“ I can’t promise I won’t try to stab you if you get to close. ” Friendly, as always, the hunter shoots a look at the stranger over his shoulder. He raises his beer in recognition, brow furrowing. “ Can I help you with somethin’, friend? ”
“ Is that how you greet everyone? “ Not that it truly mattered to the demon, but he was at least – attempting – to be decent for the moment, “ I mean, stabbing me won’t do much more than ruin my favorite jacket, but if it gets you your kicks? Go right ahead.”
“ I have no business with you, Abomination. ” Never one to mince words, Raphael fixes the half-demon with an unamused look. His very presence seems to grate on the archangel’s patience– demons and their offspring are of no interest to him. Still, he finds himself.. curious. His expression wavers for a moment, then he turns towards the male. “ What do you want? ”
“You know, I never have gotten over the tittle ABOMINATION! It’s so, I don’t know… one sided, isn’t it?” Rather, it was to his mind in all reality, “I might not be completely one thing or ANOTHER, but I do seem think that I don’t look all THAT bad.”
Either way, it didn’t quite matter to him, “As for what I want? Well, for one, you to stop calling me Abomination, and then we can go from there, DEAL?”
The one he worked for. A hierarchy. Mary knew that some demons ranked higher than others, but the details weren’t clear. It’s not like Hell released organizational charts at their quarterly meetings or anything. If this one had information about people above him, he might actually be useful. And that meant she probably shouldn’t kill him.
Disappointment showed in her eyes and in her less than enthusiastic follow-up questions. “Making sure the guy you work for’s happy? And who is that?” Her brows furrowed. Why keep killing and collecting souls if he didn’t care? What leverage did his “boss” have? She had endless questions but settled on just one more. “And why do you have to do his dirty work for him?”
“Does it really matter who they are?” The question, for what it was worth, was asked simply out of habit than necessity, “Humans fail to see what is right in front of them and when they do see it? Well, they either run away, or attempt to rationalize it in whatever way possible.”
Ky’lar had done his fair share of mistakes and he would admit to them. Of course, they were never here nor there, and he doubted that she would enjoy hearing about them. Though, the fact was, that if she was closer to him, maybe he would have revealed something more than just a half-truth, but then again, she was a hunter, and he was well… what she hunted.
“Sometimes, there is no reason to why, but rather, you do it as the other options are less… desirable. Anything before or after that decision is just static noise that means nothing.”
“Better question; do you even care that i’m here?” Honestly, the only reason Ky even stuck around was to ANNOY the other, and if that meant asking IDIOTIC questions? Then, it looked like, the DEMON was going to ask them, “Come on, I thought you would be more LIVELY or are you going to MOPE around for the next billion years?”
CHIN LIFTS IN SCRUTINY AS he tries to remember if he’s met this man before. Has Sam mentioned him AT ALL? In his time since Sam found him he’s learned extremely too much information and met people he never thought he would. Some human and some NOT. It’s hard to tell what is what or who is who. He’d rather go back in time when things weren’t so complicated. “Don’t think Sam’s mentioned you before? Who are you again?”
“Does he ever mention anything worthwhile?” The answer didn’t matter. Not to Ky’lar at least, but he was hoping to establish some sort of dialogue before he made his way closer towards the other, “It Ky’lar.” Of course, he should have said more – should have said more. Instead, he decided to keep things short, and work from there.
RECENTLY HIS ANGER had been more rampant than it normally was but he guessed that was down to the LOVELY knife that Ky’lar had implanted in his back. He wasn’t someone who took betrayal lightly and considering how he had let Kylar in. EMOTIONS were not his deal at all and yet he’d felt them for Ky’lar and then the other had betrayed him.
❛❛ OH NO TOO LATE NOW. NOW YOU HAVE TO TELL ME !!❜❜
HIS TONE was almost childlike, as though he was pleading for some big secret and maybe in a way he was. He wanted to know what the other refused to tell him so much. And yeah he wasn’t a big fan of SECRETS and it was rather prominent in his face as he eyed the other.
their fights had wounded the both of them and it was quite clear that nothing was going to return to ‘normal’ anytime soon. whatever normalcy they had, it was gone, and they were still sifting through everything.
he knew that HIS archangel wouldn’t simply forgive or forget ( if such a thing was even possible ) what he had personally done. it was all a matter of time before everything was either shattered around him or even repaired.
all ky had to do was WAIT it out and hope that things turned out well in the long run, “It’s nothing.” a lie, the same words repeated again, but this time, he followed up with them, “i simply…” he let out a deep sigh, “i want to know a way to fix ….. everything.”
THE WAY THE OTHER MOVED quickly had the edges of the archangels lips turning up with HUMOR as he wonders what was going on. A constant puzzle of trying to decipher the others moves and motives. It was almost TIRING and yet at the same time it was something he rather enjoyed and didn’t see himself stopping anytime soon. Why when the challenge was part of the fun.
❛❛ ENJOYING THE VIEW HUH ??❜❜
THE WORDS drawled as an eyebrow raises and he moves closer to the other. Nothing more than a hair’s width between them as the archangel keeps still, a move which is reminiscent of the fact he wasn’t human. Something DIFFERENT entirely but right now he wasn’t thinking on that at all. ❝ Oh do tell these IDEAS. ❞
enjoying the view was only one way of putting things. if ky was to be specific, he would have enjoyed to keep it this way between them forever. to be ( in his mind ) somewhat happy. that way, nothing could go wrong, and he wouldn’t have to worry about what his words or actions could possibly do to the situation.
of course, everything had to end; even as they were as close together as they could possibly be, ky knew that something would ( eventually ) come out of his mouth to ruin it all.
to that point, he sucked in a deep breath, and let it out slowly. for now, he just had to keep his mind on the moment, and not what ‘could or could not’ possibly happen, “—- to start, i was thinking of you against a wall and when we could go from there.” he could have said more, should have said more, but for now, ky wasn’t going to push his luck ( too much at least ).
“ if you were to take anything — or EVERYTHING — i sincerely doubt that eternal damnation is something you would need to worry about. ”WHY was he talking to her about all of it, was beyond her. like always, satana kept her own tongue tight and controlled, not giving anything she thought could be spread. granted, she wasn’t naive enough to believe that her father didn’t keep his eye on her and that he didn’t think she’d try poking around, but keeping it all to minimum helped enough for her head to stay on her shoulders. still, she held her opinion that no position in hell was eternal, and even satan was bound to fall, eventually.
war.. satana’s left side of lips twitched as she managed to stifle her laughter. not at him or anyone in particular, the whole idea of it made the succubus giddy. “ i don’t know.. ” she licked her lips, gaze going to the side, down where hell supposedly was. “ it could be quite fun. ” leave it to the demonic beast to describe wars as FUN. and honestly? the idea of ripping her own brother’s heart out, giving it as a christmas present to their father made a pleasant tingle go down her shoulders and her back. she was beginning to sink so deep into this messed up fantasy that she barely caught him speaking again.
“ i suppose ALL you need then is someone willing to pull you out. ” whether it was an offer or not, she didn’t outright say it. instead, her curiosity washed it away as she suddenly perked up, laced her tongue with innocence, locked hands behind her back like a good scout girl and shrugged. “ who is your father, anyway?”
eternal damnation came for everyone and everything. even if he was to TAKE what was his, there still would be a BINDING factor that someone ( or something ) would want to take it away from him. having power is one thing, but KEEPING it was another.
a war would HAPPEN if he didn’t play his cards right and it was why he was WILLING to play his PART until the time came. of course, it would take a lot of WORK to do so, but it would beWORTH it in the long run.
not that it MATTERED for the moment, he may have been POWER HUNGRY, but not too stupid. well, for the moment at least, but that was hardly the point, “ perhaps, ” if he was being honest with himself, it wouldn’t take much, “ however, i’m not ready to take steps into the inevitable abyss. ” rather, he wasn’t about to take any more steps to an IRREVERSIBLEsituation. well, more than he already had.
“ as for my FATHER? ” he rubbed at his chin for a few moments, “ ‘ol spikey himself. some call him the black king.” ky then pursed his lips for a few moments, “ it’s BLACKHEART. “
Victor watched the man closely, trying to glean as much as he could from observation alone; so far, he just looked… hunted. It could be a trap, of course–but as awful as they were, deceit was relatively uncommon to most demons. At least on a casual scale.
"Mm.“ A vague, echoing noise of agreement. “I know of one who succeeded for a time, but that’s irrelevant now. You’re being hunted by your own kind?” His skepticism was obvious–the folded arms, the tilted head, and through both eye-slots of the mask, a suggestion of raised eyebrows. “Why?”
Truthfully, there was a load of reasons as to why he was running, and the primary reason was due to the fact he couldn’t follow rules. Yes, he had destroyed countless plans, and even stepped on the toes of those far greater than him several times over. Yet, the number one reason was not keeping to the boundaries that were laid out for him.
"More or less. ” His lips pursed into a thin-line for a few moments, “I don’t feel like going back anytime soon.” More to the point, he didn’t feel like dealing with his father, and was willing to do anything to avoid that confrontation.
