Ruin

“Right now I’M the one that wants you skinned alive,” she growled.

Natalia refrained from HITTING her so called ‘perfect’ boyfriend that had once seemed TOO GREAT to really be happening; now she was wishing she had just WALKED AWAY when they first met.

“…I want you to LEAVE. And don’t come back next time. I’m DONE.”

“what’s the word most say these days?” a pause. “oh- yes!”a slight grin pulled at his lips for a few moments; eyes narrowing on her form. “i believe that it’s called get in line. i have so many people wanting my head- even my family, but this won’t stop. not until i had myself over or i tear every last one apart.” he wasn’t ready for either choice, but he was at least setting the facts straight ( for the moment ). “so, if you want me to leave? i’ll leave, but do remember that this isn’t over. not by a long shot.”

“Listen, SWEETHEART, I already have enough death threats on my head, and your job puts me even HIGHER on that most wanted list. Either you deal with it, or I MAKE it your problem,” she hissed.

And Natalia didn’t LIE. A breakup, which at this point seemed INEVITABLE, would be the best thing to come out of it. She was TIRED of attempted kidnapping attempts.

“do you expect me to march right on in and tell them to stop?” he could – he really could, but he wasn’t ready for that fight yet. facing his family was one thing, but this? another. a reason to why he should have just cut this off before it got this far. yet, there was no denying whatever feelings he had… were slowly turning sour. a reason to why he spoke his next words as calmly as he could. “if you want me to leave – i will, but we both knew this would happen. we both know… who wants me skinned alive.”

MYSELF KILLED? One of your little WORKERS tried to TAKE me again–my work is the only reason I’m still in this DIMENSION, asshole.”

Natalia couldn’t understand their dynamic, between LOVING and HATING this man in a matter of minutes before she was threatening to BREAK it off again. This was the THIRD attempt someone tried to steal her out of her home for the sake of getting to her LOVELY boyfriend.

not my problem.” he wanted to say that it was, but the problem ended up being that ky couldn’t admit that. no, it wasn’t his problem – no matter what he ended up feeling… he wasn’t going to get involved. what would happen, would happen, and whatever consequences followed suit. if she couldn’t protect herself? well, that was on her – not him. “they should know by now this won’t change anything.”

“I said GET OUT.”

What Natalia couldn’t HANDLE was her boyfriend coming home AGAIN with that threat of a RETALIATION from his lovely job–that she CHOSE not to know about.

“How many times do I have to come home to THIS? I’m not about to get KILLED from bringing your work HOME–I already deal with my own SHIT of a job. Get out.”

TO BE QUITE FAIR? i take CARE of my problems.”

most of the time at least, but sometimes things SLIPPED through the cracks. he HATED that certain things were starting to COME UNDONE. not that he could really DO anything about it – not until EVERYTHING moved into place one way or another. still, if she didn’t want him there? TOUGH. she didn’t COMMAND him – no one did. not anymore.

”if you decide to get yourself KILLED, i do believe that’s your problem. NOT MINE!”

Vitality

No.”

Ruby never expected demons to be fair for shit, but considering what she had done by getting Lucifer out of the cage, she felt as though she deserved some respect, even from the ones that were apparently stealing thrones down under. And by fair she meant by staying the hell away she could continue doing just that.

“I don’t work for anyone. Royalty or nobility…not for the humans, not for the angels. Ask someone else,” she told him, but bit her lip. Being respectful would hopefully thwart any potential anger for refusing a job.

image

“i really would reconsider your stance on this.”

even if she didn’t, ky wasn’t above dragging her back to hell with-out even a second thought. if that was what it took, he’d do it with out thinking of the consequences, but then again, he didn’t want things to go that far. no, he’d rephrase what he wanted, and then go from there.

“you may say no know, but none of us can avoid hell forever. in-fact,” he continued on. “if you do this job for me… i can assure you that you’ll never end up back there.” at least if everything went according to plan.

Vitality

“If you’re here to drag me back, then I’ll go down fighting. I’m not going back,” she said through practically clenched teeth.

The last thing Ruby wanted to do was fight anybody. She hated what she was and hated that she had betrayed someone who trusted her more than her own kind. Not all of them were evil…she had lied. A lot. But the truth that held the most accountability was when she could still remember being human

“I’m being sincere. I don’t care who you are. I don’t know what you want, but I’m not involved in anything other than trying to seem normal. The humans are idiots but you learn to admire them after a while.”

image

“i could drag you back there kicking and screaming,” he said bluntly. “maybe you’d run for a while, but you’d be put back to where you belong.” his tone, for what it was darkened as he took a step forward. “it wouldn’t even be hard either.”

however, just as soon as it darkened, it evened out a bit as his hands clasped together. a grin pulling at his lips. “you should just be glad that’s not what i’m here for.” if he was… he wouldn’t have simply been talking, but that was neither here nor there.

“now, i simply need you to… obtain something for me.” it was more than that; an item that had been in his possession for a while had been… locked away. he couldn’t even get close to it due to the wards that prevented him from getting anywhere close to it, but someone else? well… that was up for debate, but it was still a better plan than trying to destroy the wards on his own.

Vitality

“Great. Whoever or whatever you are, I am not interested. I’m not doing anything wrong, not even so much as stealing a drink from a bar. This body? It’s not even occupied anymore.”

For whatever it was worth, she regretted ever getting involved with Lilith. Or the other shit she had put other demons through just to get an extra favor that meant nothing to the one she had raised. Ruby wasn’t trying to make amends…she was trying to live again.

“I don’t want to do anything with our kind anymore,” she said, eyes following his hands as they went behind his back. “I just want to live.”

image

“you lost that option when you became a demon,” he said matter of factly. not even willing to pull any punches in this little conversation. no, ky was going to lay out things bluntly-maybe that way he could get his own point across with-out having to cut any corners.

“living,” he put bluntly. “is for all those humans out there who are ignorant of the world around them. you may say you want to live, but we all – even humans – serve hell one in way or another.” he could have gone on to explain, but instead, he didn’t think it was important. no, he was simply laying out the facts of the matter, and would get to his true point. well, eventually… if he thought it was needed.

@hellfirebound

“So you’re…what? The prince of hell, or did I miss the memo? I’ve never heard of you before.”

Not since she had gotten out. One knife to the stomach was the only sign Ruby needed to stay as far away from the Winchester brothers for good, so when she got out, she stayed out. Nothing to do with hell or what monster she was, but trying to make her life as normal as she could.

Running into another demon (if that’s what he was?) probably wasn’t a good sign. For whatever reason he was there, she hoped it didn’t mean a one way trip back downstairs.

“Haven’t been home in a while. Hope that doesn’t mean I’m going back, I like it up here. Haven’t even caused trouble, plan on keeping it that way.”

“ yes, well, i don’t really play well with others. ” not to mention if there was a memo? would have more than likely contained the little order to bring him back downstairs. though, he was doubtful she would know anything about that – especially with her last string of words.

however, she might be useful… even if he despised a majority of his ‘kind’ if he could even be called demon these days. “ something to do with my tendencies. ” or, in short, that ky didn’t like people following him – demon or otherwise. well, that, and he usually killed anyone who got too close for his own comfort. "among other things,” he said, hands hands slid into his back pockets.
