HOW THE BOYS FROM THE FRAT HOUSE CONVINCED THIS GUY to let them use his house to throw a keg party was beyond her. The place was decked out, way above the usual basement or empty garage that these so-called epic house parties ended up in. She was only here to keep an eye on her room mate – parties weren’t really her thing after all.
She spotted a guy sat on a sofa, a little older than the rest of them and a damn sight better dressed, too. It didn’t take a genius to figure out this was the mysterious hero who had leant the Alpha Sigma Phi lads his house. Parties weren’t really her thing, but she still had manners.
“Hey,” she said, offering him a drink – rum and coke, she was pretty sure, although she hadn’t exactly tripled checked the bottle before he poured it. “This your place?” @hellfirebound

IT WASN’T THAT HARD TO CONVINCE HIM. With his ‘Grandparents’ on a business trip to… who knows where, Ky gave the boy’s a deal – they could use the house as they saw fit. Just as long as they didn’t go in the basement and were out before three am. It was a simple deal and it gave Ky the ‘time around others’ his Grandparents thought he lacked.
So, he figured as long as he was left alone, he could watch them all, and make sure no one died. It was the last thing he needed – cops snooping around the bedrooms. Even Ky didn’t know what shit was in the mansion, but he did know that the more ‘taboo’ or, ‘dangerous’ stuff was in the lower levels. A reason to why he declared them off limits and he saw no reason to why anyone would go down there anyways (or so he hoped).
“More or less,” he said, running his left hand through his hair, and taking the drink with his right. “The good thing about my family is they leave for months at a time and leave me in charge.” Not that he minded – it was better than some of the Horror stories he’d heard about from the kid’s here about their ‘home life’. So, he couldn’t really complain.
“Not into these…” he gave a gesture with the drink of the house, “Parties or are you here offer Ky’lar Richardson your thanks for this venue?”
❝ Really? I’d like to have a dog but– we travel a lot. ❞
❝ Too many parties for one. Not to mention whatever else they might drag in,❞ Ky said. ❝ I might still have a family… for whatever it’s worth, but they hate my choice in style. ❞ It was something that he may have to fix eventually, but that was… something he was still working towards at any-rate.
she doesn’t turn when she senses the intruder in her home. if someone has come with any intention of doing her harm — they’ve already made it through her wards, and that means any defensive stance she might take now would likely be useless. instead, triss continues to direct her gaze downward, into the book she holds — an ancient text that few can translate, and into which she’s put a great deal of effort simply in the acquisition.
❛ how did you get in here ? ❜
the question is quiet, casual, when she finally poses it. there’s this sense of something —— though she can’t quite put her finger on it —— and generally when one is so determined to see another that they will disable any safeguards surrounding a place, they’re likely to explain their purpose sooner than later.
❛ couldn’t have been easy. ❜
if it was easy, he wouldn’t have been here, but then again, there was only so much he could do. warding was new to him ; it wasn’t simply picking locks, but dealt with something else entirely. a reason to why he was hesitant to even answer the question.
in his mind, answering would only cause more questions to be posed, and he didn’t have the answers to many of the one’s he thought the other would ask. all he knew so far was he needed to find someone — someone who might be able to shed some light on his… current situation.
❛ i walked through the door. ❜
a simple statement, something that was not quite the truth, but also not quite a lie either. he wanted to be truthful, but it was far easier to speak lies these days than anything else… at least when the true matter of facts were far more complicated than a simply put lie.
❛ is that a problem? ❜
❝ Hey, we’re gonna keep you safe. That’s what we do, my brother and I. Just trust me on this, okay. ❞ He smiles softly and takes a second to wonder if this will be enough to keep the demons away from this guy but honestly, he doesn’t really care. He needs to try. ❝ You didn’t tell me why they’re after you. ❞
Sam’s words rang in his head several times over. Especially the part about trusting the two of them. If this was any other situation, he would have handled this like he usually did ( pushing everything to the side and running ), but instead, Ky had no choice in the matter.
It was either turn himself in or run. There was no fighting with these guys, no way to burn them out. They just kept coming back. No way to just settle this with his fists; the way that things came easily for him.
Yet, to the question, he couldn’t help, but feel a slight amount of anxiety at answering. They were after him for a reason after-all and he was barely scratching the surface on understanding why.
Not just the reasons to why the Demons were after him, but rather, their motives. After-all, this had ended up starting due to the fact that someone ( basically Ky’lar ) couldn’t keep their nose out of where it shouldn’t have belonged.
❝ apparently, my father is a demon.❞ his lips then pursed into a thin-line, ❝ don’t believe it though.❞ ❝ I’m just….just… stuck in this mess.❞
she’s familiar with that response and it doesn’t help her feel comfortable. if anything it stresses her a little. maybe she’s over reacting– for all she knows it could be as simple as soul searching. but sam didn’t want to risk it. ❝ you never know. books are pretty good at have answers. maybe you haven’t found the right one?❞
❝ I’ve looked from biblical archives from New York to here. ❞ He pinched the bridge of his eyes for a few moments, ❝ Even some pre-biblical, ❞ and he never was able to find what he was looking for. ❝ Don’t think i’m looking for is in a book. At least around here. ❞
❝ that explains the studying. ❞ she takes the book and smiles. ❝ thank you. ❞ but she can’t take her eyes off all of his books. it reminds her of how her family would study before going off onto a hunt. all that reading… she came here to get away from that, not fall back into it. ❝ wh– what kind of answer? ❞ –she really needs to work on her curiosity.
❝ you wouldn’t believe me even if i explained. ❞ then again, most would just roll their eyes, and think he was writing. no, he wasn’t doing that, but rather, trying to find a connection — one that so far had lead up to false answers and fabricated stories. ❝ — maybe my answer is out there. not with books that are shit for answers. ❞ though, at the same time, ky knew that the answer to his questions would be dangerous. maybe even more so than what he already found out.
‘hey, man, i wasn’t lookin’ where i was going. sorry. ‘ the winchester flashed a brief personable smile before he squatted down to collect his books that crashed against the ground after the impact of their shoulder bumping into each other. @hellfirebound / sc
‘ it’s fine. ‘ ky’lar kept his head low and his hands in his pocket. it was easier that way to keep his distance from people if he didn’t attract too much attention to himself. ‘ could have been worse. ‘ more like ky could have got angry and would have had to run …. again.
❝thank – you?❞ she isn’t sure if he’s actually grateful for her sudden interruption or not. but his book selection, from what she can see, is unique. it raises some red flags for her. but surely not everything in the whole world has to be hunting related; right?❝ are you studying bible… stuff?❞ her book on the judicial branch sticks out like a sore thumb.
He should have been more polite. If given the chance, he more than likely would have been, but that wasn’t him. Not anymore at least. Even as he reached up for the book, he still was a bit disheartened he didn’t find what he was looking for. Not that he thought he would anytime soon, but there was some hope that he could find at least a clue.
❝ I don’t believe in that crap. ❞ Ky’lar said, handing the book to her, ❝ Just searching for an answer. One… that I won’t find here at any rate. ❞
❝ er – don’t mind me! ❞ she is running on four cups of coffee and an energy drink; not one of her smartest choices. but it allowed her to avoid the nightmares and keep up with her college work. although samantha has forgotten some of her manners. ❝ i’m just trying to reach that book up waaaay there!❞
He had been nose deep in a book about legends. Specifically, biblical ones, and built on myth. So far, Ky’lar hadn’t gotten very far, and he was yanked back into reality by the other. His own stack of books wasn’t too high – for today –, but there were still around twelve beside him, ❝ —- And you want me to get it for you? ❞ Obviously, he wasn’t trying to be be rude, but it more than likely came out that way as he threw his current book into the pile that was beside him, ❝ A change of pace at least. I’ve been getting nowhere. ❞
