❝ It’ll work just fine, as long as you don’t lose it. ❞ And he tries not to think about how he’d lost one years ago that led to a gruesome situation he’d rather completely forget now–but it doesn’t matter, not with the tattoo in his chest keeping him safe. ❝ And there’s always a way to get some permanent protection. ❞
Losing it wouldn’t be done easily. Ky’lar knew fully well how he could keep track of things if he actually wanted to, ❝ I won’t. ❞ The words came out lower than he thought they did, but he didn’t seem to catch it, “I also doubt something permanent will work. They always come back… it’s just a matter of time.”
❝ You really think it will work? ❞ An assumption that could prove fatal if wrong. Ky’lar might not have known much, but he knew enough to doubt that it would solve his problems. Not to mention his father was still out there and that could make things complicated,
❝ ——— whatever you THINK, i DIDN’T do this. i COULDN’T do this. ❞ shakey words ; fearful tone and yet he KNEW what he had done. he just couldn’t ACCEPT it,
❝ —— you have the WRONG guy. ❞ even though the EVIDENCE was as clear as day that ky’lar did it — blood was still on his hands.
