“I feel stupid as hell but saying this, but…” Unsure how of to put thoughts into words, Eddie falls silent to avoid embarrassing himself. His world was one defined by a number of crazy developments on all given day, but what he was about to share may just top everything else. “I think god is coming, okay? The one in the abyss who looks back.”
Ky’s tail poked Eddie right in the chest as he listened. A scowl forming across his features as time passed. “What god?” Ky wasn’t foolish enough to admit there wasn’t gods – Thor was a God -, but then again, there were many beings that were ‘considered’ gods. Ky bet even Mephisto was a god to someone, but that wasn’t the point. “And not stupid just… i fail to really care.” Rather, Ky failed to care unless it specifically related to him or his family.
This one sure knows how to annoy! But Venom is a patient sort. He knows not to give into anger so quickly. Unless Eddie calls him a parasite again.
“Bored? Then you should do something
F҉̸͞U̡Ń͘. Like try out a hobby, perhaps?”
This time Ky folded his arms across his chest. His tail moving back to it’s usual spot behind his back. Fun was subjective; he could only do the same thing so many times before it got repetitive. “Like killing you?” He didn’t exactly mean it like that, but Ky rarely had time for a normal version of fun. “Or,” he said, glaring in Venom’s direction, “We can have some REAL fun.”
what she thinks is that they’re wasting their time. she’s direct: if she wants something, she takes it. flirting is pointless and she’d rather skip the boring parts. if he wanted something other than to be her drinking buddy then he’s really barking up the wrong tree and she’s letting him down easy by keeping it simple. “wow, a pity drink. you really know how to sweep a girl off her feet, don’t you?”
“if i wanted to sweep you off your feet? i’d have made sure to buy you a whole round.” there was a shrug. “if you’d like, i’d make it two two drinks, and more will come as time goes by.” or, rather, if he thought she’d prove amusing. so far? she was just an annoyance.
Ky pokes Venom with his tail once again. This time just to be annoying. “No, but i’m bored.”
“–it’s not a matter of changing who you are, just going deeper within yourself. you won’t find your will if you let others suppress it.” the titan himself had learnt to embrace what he was, even after years of studying ways to C U R E his hideous syndrome, to correct his mutation – to no avail; because he’d been told it was wrong, that it was an anomaly. and, eventually, he made that his S T R E N G T H.
“–find out what is holding you back, and let go of it. if you haven’t found what you sought in hell, perhaps it is time to L E A V E and pursue your own path. have you ever thought of the wider universe?”
the UNIVERSE as a whole was vast. greater than most human minds could come to understand. for whatever they were, they LACKED the much larger picture, and the TRUTH that they were NOT the center of the universe. ky’lar found himself falling into old HABITS easily enough; focusing on what he WANTED instead of what he needed.
all the same, he stayed on EARTH due to the fact it was was what he KNEW. CLINGING to whatever he could to BALANCE him, but in turn all it did was make him MORE uneasy. what was holding him back, truly holding him back was the FEAR of never returning to the only place he knew. SOMETHING he should have gotten over by now and yet it was still LINGERING in the back of his mind.
“at times,” a simple statement that was the ABSOLUTE truth. he had thought about it just NOT much or often.“exploring it all just isn’t possible.” though, that was due his own SINGLE mindedness. there were ways. several ways. all he had to was FIND one, but he still THOUGHT there was something for him either on earth or in hell. even if that wasn’t exactly he case. “not at the moment.”
his lips then pursed together for several moments. thinking, that was what he was doing as he slid his hands calmly behind his back. “i have no idea what’s HOLDING me back” oh, he knew. he just couldn’t -no he wouldn’t – admit it to himself or anyone else for that matter. he’d figure it out then dance around the subject; what he wanted and reality were two different things entirely …even he could see that. “if i knew… i’d do SOMETHING about it.” a lie, he’d just do what he always did… ignore the pain and drink it away. it was all he could do when he started more or less TEARING himself apart.
‘such a puppy… ’ he made sure to quickly add that on after him, a SPARK of amusement in his eyes before he continued, ‘ they start running just because you give them a ‘look’ ? not sure i believe you – gotta see proof, hot shot. ’
‘ don’t ever call be that again! ’ teeth bared with-in moments of the words escaping his lips. ’ i am not a puppy. ’ he’d DEFEND that statement until his dying breath (if he was even allowed to die that is). ‘ nor will i ever be – get that through your thick little head or maybe i’ll just rip it off. ’ not that ky ever would, but there was no harm in threats. not in his mind at least.
ky tried to be early; this time, he was happy peter was late. with what he’d been doing with the spider, it forced him to change his plans, and take a few back routes to make sure he wasn’t being tracked. his suit was under his current clothes and his mask was in his pocket. maybe he’d actually tell peter the truth about what he did at night, but it was doubtful.
before ky even met peter, he’d never ware a mask at all. he’d show his face proudly and even more often than usual. sometimes even in his true form… all for the show of it all. since meeting peter… things had changed. he went out only when it was necessary and even made a suit for himself. something that would strike fear in most and keep his reputation up.
however, at hearing peter was jumped… all thoughts about what he did for amusement vanished from his mind. it just wasn’t the right time. never would be with the way things were turning out, but he would deal with whatever came in stride.
“you could have called me you know.” actually, ky wouldn’t have answered if he did, but it was the thought that truly counted in his mind. “maybe i could have been your knight in dark armor to save the day.” or, most likely just make things worse.
“— at least you’re still in one piece.” even if ky couldn’t say the same for the spider he had fought earlier. “so, that is a plus – i thought for a moment or two you got lost, but i wasn’t worried.” a lie, he would have been worried, but nothing a few dozen drinks wouldn’t cure. or even finishing off the spider, but that was another story entirely.
always leave it to someone idiotic to state the obvious. though, doomed wasn’t exactly the best way to describe their little situation. ky could in theory get them out of it, but he chose not to. for one, it wasn’t worth it, and two? he didn’t trust his companion enough to save them.
so, he’d keep his idea’s on how to get them out of this little situation to himself. just until the last moment or it was actually needed. deep down… he hoped it wasn’t. “unless you’re going to complain about the situation that’s your fault? mind doing something or do i have to do all the work?”
❝ Don’t you have anything better to do? ❞ He wasn’t going to respond to the question – not directly at least. ❝ Or does annoying me seem to be the only thing on your mind today? ❞
