“Yeah, likethat’ll be the day.” A chuckle flees from his mouth that’s tinged with a slight amount of nervousness. It wouldn’t hurt, he deems, to show caution around this descendant of Mephisto. Given his dismal track record with the rest of his family so far.
“Want some words of advice? Best get gone, before I show you out personally.”
“That day may be sooner than you think,” he said, arms folding across his chest. “Much sooner actually.” Of course, the validity of that claim could be debated… more or less.
“So, think about it this way; you can keep your advice and in turn… you stay out of my way.”
(For the unworthy / hell plots) Why are you pickin fights with other ppl when you’ve still got me tRAPPED IN HELL? // @fryordie
That was the question, wasn’t it? For why Ky always attempted to pick fights with someone else and not Thor, the one that was rightfully his. The true answer was that he got bored easily, but that wasn’t exactly the case this time around. No, Ky just enjoyed having more options; sometimes, he enjoyed fighting unknowns, but usually they beat him. Something… he was still trying to grasp his head around. Not that he’d ever mention it to well… anyone. There was a reason Thor was trapped down there and it was in line with the same reason Ky should have been down there (instead of causing havoc on Earth). He needed to train or at least learn some basic discipline. At the moment, both seemed like a far stretch, but in time it was possible.
“Have you ever thought that maybe…i’m just not that into you, Odinson? The cosmos doesn’t and has never evolved around you.”
“Nah, not scared. Jus’ want to spare you the embarrassment of losing, especially in front of your family.”
“See, here’s the thing; I wouldn’t be the one losing here.” Or, maybe he would be, but Ky wouldn’t admit that. Not even to himself. “It would be you.”
Well shit that wasn’t what he was expecting. Though he should have known someone who’s power he could sense would react this way. Violence and darkness were in his blood, and no doubt in this man’s as well. It was only a moment he had to look Ky’lar over, and it didn’t tell him much. He was an older man, by probably ten years. Confident, but more than that. Self assured, someone with experience. So many things Aaron lacked, no matter how hard he tried.
“Well, I’d be obligated to stop you from doing that, for one thing.“
“You’re strong, but do you want to risk taking me on?“
Putting his hands on the chair opposite Ky’lar, he leaned closer. This wasn’t what he wanted to have happen here. He didn’t want to be starting fights, much less ones he didn’t know for sure he could win. “You’re not the only one here with power. So just… listen. I’m sure it’s in everyone’s best interest.”
Taking a step back, Aaron put a hand in his pocket. Fingers around his Avengers Identicard, he wondered how long it would take reinforcements to get here. No time at all, once they were in a quinjet. But how long to do that? Too long, if lives were on the line. He had to make sure it didn’t come to violence.
“My name is Aaron, and I… could sense you. I needed to know if you were someone I should be concerned about. If you were coming after me, were a threat to me.“ Honesty hour, as it were. “And if I thought you were… I told myself, I’d have to take you down. So, the question is… are you?“
Reaching for his drink, he gave a slight glance towards Aaron, but then returned his gaze back to the screen. He wasn’t going to deal with this right now. “Fifty Eight seconds,” he said, moving the cup to his lips, and drinking it down.
He was at least giving Aaron time to explain. As for how long? Not enough, but quite honestly, Ky didn’t truly care either. In his mind, Aaron was someone who was a threat; one that could take his time away from him.
“I’ve taken my Father on on several occasions and beings larger than Stark Tower,” he said flatly. “You still have time to explain yourself and prevent… a blood bath.”
Either way, Ky didn’t care what happened, but this place was the only coffee shop this side of town with an excellent selection. So, he had a slight soft spot in his mind for it, but not a large one.
“So, the question isn’t what I am,” he said, moving to take a sip, and then sighing that the cup was empty. “It’s how you’re going to explain why someone so… lesser than myself is interrupting me.”
“Kiddo, if you’re looking for a fight you picked the wrong person. You can’t even beat your granddaddy. What the hell do you think you’re doing here?”
He wasn’t in the mood for this. Not for Blackheart, not for Mephisto, not for this little shit. Johnny tiredly ran a hand through his hair and took a swig of something that burned his nose as well as his throat.
“An’ you could do better?”
Johnny wasn’t wrong though – Ky couldn’t beat either of them. Not even if he pulled every trick he knew. Maybe one day it would be ideally possible, but not right now. Not when he could only win fights by the skin of his teeth (on good days).
❝ Well, then it looks like we’ve got the beginning of a deal… Still a couple details to hammer out. ❞
There was something that wasn’t quite adding up, a wriggling feeling in the base of her stomach that was the impetus for her unease. Felicia had dealt with cocky benefactors before, but the ease with which he agreed… There was something wrong.
❝ Have you done anything to arouse suspicion? Pressed a little too hard? Attempted to grease a couple palms? Museum types and archaeologists are familiar with men of your sort… I need to know how difficult you may have made this. ❞
❝ i’ve pressed just hard enough to get their attention. as i said before, i’d go myself, but they won’t even let me near the building. ❞ not to mention ky had attempted to kill a few guards the last time he was there, but that was besides the point in his mind.
❝ these.. types don’t know a good deal when they see one. if it was me, what i want would have been in my grasp months ago, but as it stands… ❞ he trailed off for a few moments….❝ it doesn’t look like i have any other options. ❞
SO MAYBE COMING to this meeting with all the major crime lords on the Eastern Seaboard was not a good idea. Fisk had been glaring at her for the better part of the cocktail hour, leading the Black Cat to reject every drink that came her way. Hackles were up, sharp green eyes scanning the room for allies.
SHE WAS MOVING to him as soon as he was spotted, sitting at the corner of the room. Long and lean, with a cold and dispassionate aura, exactly what Felicia was needing for cover. This world involved so much more politics, especially with so many players in this room. Sliding in close in the booth, shoulders brushing, the thief turned boss looked up with a playfully arched brow.
❝ Well, I don’t believe we’ve had the pleasure. Black Cat. You are? ❞
HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO AVOID ANY CONTACT here. That way, he wouldn’t RISK voicing his opinions too badly and he could LEAVE with out a real incident of sorts. More importantly, a name was ONE thing, but his FAMILY was another completely.
KEEPING HIS HEAD DOWN was in the best interests of everyone; saying what he wanted could get people KILLED. Not that the simple prospect of death MEANT anything to him, but he wasn’t going to cause any UNNECESSARY violence when it could be AVOIDED.
AN EYEBROW LIFTED as she approached; plain DISGUST spread across his features as she spoke. The question of WHY she was over here was on that mind of his, but he wasn’t going to ASK that – no, that would come out another way of sorts.
RUDENESS WOULDN’T SUIT anyone in his situation; too many BIG names in one place. It was why he chose the approach of being UNINTERESTED (even if that could have been considered rude in itself).
❝ Ky’lar, ❞ he said, forgoing any TITLES that could have proven to be beneficial for the moment as he leaned back against the wall. ❝ An’ we haven’t. ❞ There was a gesture to the area at large. ❝ As soon as the business is done? i’m gone. ❞ Then he could relax in a very cold hotel room, but business first, and then attempting to ignore the REST of creation later.
It was one simple tuck of the hands into unseen pockets, and yet her blood began to boil all the same. There was a certain arrogance in so flippant a maneuver, one that sat wrong upon an already darkening mood, set her green eyes aflame. “Enlighten me, then. What is there to work out?”
“I’m sure if given the right… motivation many things could be.” Then again, Ky had been wrong before. If he was being honest with himself, sometimes putting too much pressure on someone gave the wrong results. A reason to why he wasn’t going to press his luck – not today at least. “It all depends on why you’re here.”
“EVEN IF I DO NOT like the answer, it is important that i know.” more so for the fact okoye needs to know if whatever or whoever that was, was a threat to t’challa.
“IS IT NOW?” answers to many were needed far more than ASSUMPTIONS, but rarely was the truth ever wanted. in truth, what was important was an answer that was agreed upon as the truth of the fact. so, he was going to be HONEST… for once. “all that you know about reality… about what there is beyond earth is at an end.” a pause. “there are things out there that defy logic. trust me… i KNOW.”
A DERISIVE SNORT as a bear-like hand clapped along the other’s back, taking another hearty swig of his mead. The fact that the shorter blonde would deign to compare the finest of beverages in all of Asgard to the swill on Midgard was an affront to his senses.
❝ There is no beverage in any realm that matches the mead here! ❞ A wave brought a goblet to the demon as Thor continued,
❝ Just be aware, should you become sick, your kind would be more mocked than they are now. It is only the honor of the entirety of your delegation on the line… ❞
❝ YOU UNDERESTIMATE ME, THOR.❞ Or perhaps it was Ky who underestimated Thor himself. He could handle alcohol like WATER back on earth; it never suited his tastes. The cheep shit or the more expensive brands… they all tasted the same to him. It also was rare that he ever got fully smashed, but that was quite frankly… besides the point. ❝ I’ll drink this goblet and the next three. You’re on. ❞
