No deal!? The arrogance and stubbornness of the demon spawn was dangerously aggravating the Silver Surfer. He never wished death on anyone, well that was not entirely true the list of names was minuscule, but he was considering doing real harm to the man-demon.
“You will regret this. I say this again, LEAVE ME ALONE.” For the life of him Norrin did not understand why Ky’lar could not simply move on.
“Oh, I’ve regretted almost every action since I was born. I doubt one more won’t cause any true harm.”
Then again, Ky doubted that it would truly matter. Nothing he did would ever change what he was or even what he’d done. All that mattered was seeing the extent of what he was truly capable of and going from there.
“Not really at any-rate or do you really hate me that much?”
“Perhaps you aren’t like your family but we shall see. If we’re being honest I cannot trust you. That has to be earned.”
Norrin did not enjoy assuming the worst in people but he has seen too much to simply allow himself to not be wary. Too many have tried taking advantage of him.
“Well, if we’re being honest, I doubt you’d ever get around to trusting me, but i’ve been surprised before.”
Ky wasn’t going to put much hope into the matter. Even if his family wasn’t involved, Ky had done his fair share of actions to label himself just as bad, but he was trying to get himself under control. For the most part at least.
“My family tree just seems to complicate matters.”
A HARD EYE ROLL, ENOUGH to make his head hurt. lips curl into a snarl and ross shakes his head. “i was done the moment i lay eyes on you.” maybe ross should be scared, but he’s more annoyed and angry at the moment. ross continues to walk. “i really don’t care at this point.”
“THEN MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAND OVER what i want, Ross.” That way, Ky could move forward with his plans, and wouldn’t have to deal with the other again. Though, he doubted that he would actually comply with-out some use of force. “It’s all very simple.” A pause. “You hand me what I want and then I leave you alone.”
“Catch.” His words provide little warning as he tosses an object in Ky’s direction. Flat on both sides, the runestone sported an intricate design on its front, and its arcane magicks could be charged with power should it be presented with a gift of blood. “I have heard word of your plight to travel more easily between the realms. Perhaps this will offer some assistance.”
His left hand came out to catch the object; not really looking at it until it was firmly gripped there. At first glance, he didn’t notice anything special about it, but after a few moments, he started to notice the design, and a quick grin spread across his lips.
“You’re sure being helpful these days – tell me do you truly think this is the best option… for someone like myself?” Ky almost was about to say more about his reasoning for that statement, but instead, he held his tongue in check. Well, for the moment at least.
Sympathy was not exactly what Norrin would describe feeling for the half-demon attractive man. He could understand him though, but he was not one to share such thoughts especially to one being the grandson of one of his greatest enemies.
“I know your grandfather better than I wish to. At least you seem capable of reason unlike he.” Also Norrin didn’t recoil in Ky’s presence as he did his grandfather.
“Oh, i’m sure i’m capable of many things. All it really takes is a bit of effort and my family leaving me alone.”
Sometimes it was easy to escape their grasp, but most of the time it was difficult to even attempt such a thing. Even then, he was watched, and while Ky didn’t know who or what was watching – maybe no one at all… he still knew someone was there trying to keep tabs on him.
“I’m not like them… no matter what you believe.”
Norrin’s eyes followed Ky’lar’s hands which he slid into his back pockets. He briefly imagined his hands touching…
“Well you seem to have mostly bad days then.”
“Mostly,” he mused, “but not all the time.”
Then again, Ky doubted that Norrin would even listen to him. Most had never even tried or… if they did? Ky never really took notice or his bad and good days were so alike that people just stopped trying.
“Once… there were many good days, but then he showed up, and you know how my family is when they get their eye on something.”
It had to be the demon’s charm, otherwise Norrin would have smacked that impudent hand away from his face and unleashed his Power Cosmic on the man, instead he turned his head to avoid the touch.
“Don’t touch me demon.” He didn’t say it with much conviction.
He couldn’t hide the disappointment across his features when Norrin turned away. Then again, he should have expected it… from anyone really these days.
“Fine, I won’t, but,” he said, taking a step back as his hands slid to his back pockets of his pants – the one thing he actually was wearing for the most part. “I’m mostly human,” a shrug, “On good days.”
Why wasn’t he wearing a shirt!
“Am I?” Norrin was unaware he could blush.
He took a step closer- not even bothering to care that someone (namely Mephisto) would get angry about this… this whole situation.
“It looks like it,” he said, moving a hand under the Surfer’s chin. “It really does.”
“then we can be each other’s backup, and see where things go from here. i don’t think we need to worry too much, but – the least amount of damage we leave behind, the better.” he’s learned, along with the other avengers, that people don’t tend to like their homes being destroyed even if the people destroying it were trying to save the planet.
he was about to comment that all damage was collateral, but instead, he gave a nod. there was no use trying to go into that little debate nor attempt to explain himself. “well, things happen,” he said with a shrug. “i’ll try to keep away from doing anything too unnecessary.”
FAKE SMILE DROPS almost instantly at the threat, and rather than show how intimidated he is ( which is only slightly, if he’s honest ) he gets angry. Yondu doesn’t take kindly to being threatened, whatever the situation, and he’ll be damned if he let anyone get to him. “Sorry, hoss, I ain’t inta’ tha’ kinda’ thing.” A beat. “Business — now tha’s got my attention.”
HE KNEW FULLY WELL that his threat wouldn’t be received well. Luckily for him, this was one of the few times his ASSUMPTIONS were wrong. Ky knew he was walking a fine line with this little RISK of his, but all the same… it was one he was WILLING to ultimately take. “Not many are,” a short pause. “However, if you’re interested, I may have something for you – REAL business.“ Even if he knew it would end up costing him a fortune… or two. “With very limited risk to yourself.”
