❝  A cockroach fighting a larger cockroach is still an insect doing battle with an insect. Both should be crushed underneath my boot.  ❞ A cruel taunt, intended to incite the rage of the wretched mongrel that stood before the god.

❝  There is no warrior in the pond scum dimension your ilk crawl out of that can match me. Tell me, mutt, how does it feel to be in the presence of your superior?  ❞

❝ Is it now? ❞  His lips pursed into a thin-line. ❝ In my experience, a stronger enemy – no matter where they’re from is still stronger. It doesn’t invalidate that fight – no matter how much of a pompous prat you may be, Asgardian, ❞ he said, as his arms slid behind his back, ❝ So, let me condise this down to way you’ll understand – there are many above me, but the only one I truly believe has any real sway over me is Mephisto. Not you or even my father, but him.❞

one of us owes the other and since I just
got stiffed on a case, I’m saying it’s you.

“and you think i’m gonna buy you a drink?” he couldn’t help the smirk
that spread across his lips for a few moments. “cute. very cute.”

                    ❝ it’s been suggested. ❞

he hasn’t really had the time to take it under ADVISEMENT, but it’d probably mean less trouble in his life, less enemies and unpleasant interactions leaving him teetering back and forth between reaching for a weapon. as it stood, he hadn’t. but sometimes it was safer to air on the side of CAUTION

                                        ❝ you’re talkin’ about a waltz.
                                          BIG DISTINCTION.      i’m
                                          more interested in  a  short,
                                          kind of  unpleasant  looking
                                          guy with a comb-over,  and
while we’re on  the  subject —

do you USUALLY hang around places like this? ❞

ky could have simply said the guy wasn’t here or even better – pointed him in another direction. of course, that would have meant more motivation then he had, and it more than likely… it meant he was being helpful. so, he opted for the more sarcastic option.

         ❝ do you? ❞

a simple question. one  that was filled to the brim with sarcasm. not that the answer mattered – not to him at least, but all the same, ky knew it had to be asked one way or another.

❝ as it stands… what i enjoy is you giving me some peace or is that too much to ask?❞

violence and destruction went hand in hand these days. anger and rage did as well. death just was something that happened when everything got out of control.

good days were rare, but they happened. he even a good portion of restraint on those days. all the same, ky didn’t think another excuse was needed. he said the truth or, rather, the truth, as he so believed.

❛ would you rather i lie? ❜ a simple question, but one he didn’t need answered. no, it was worthless to explain himself. even more so when there was no doubt in his mind any explanations would be attributed to excuses.

❛ i could, but ❜ he said, shifting topics,  ❛ it better be drinks – or something. ❜  truth be told, ky just needed a distraction, and one that hopefully wouldn’t resort to another bloody disaster.

❝ This is most amusing! Your puny little half-breed limbs are not strong enough to kick the ass of even an Asgardian babe, let alone the finest warrior in all nine realms. Consider this a mercy that I grant you this one chance to back down, otherwise I shall return you to your father in pieces.  ❞

image

❝ Doubtful, ❞ he said bluntly. ❝ I’ve fought much taller and thicker things than you. ❞ Ky meant to say more – to elaborate more on the subject, but instead, grunted. ❝ Nor do I back down when I know it’s the right thing to do. ❞ A pause. ❝ You might be the finest warrior in all the nine realms, but you forget… I don’t come from any of them. ❞

He could turn Ky away, as he had done every other day that he’d received a visit from him both in the guise of his human form and as his demonic self. But this time had felt different. There was an element of desperation to Ky’s tone that he’d not heard of before, which his newly recovered conscious could not avoid enquiring about. And so it was that Thor asked about the nature of Ky’s request.

“In that case, I invite you to step aboard so that we may discuss this matter further.” The boat was a recent acquisition and he’d hate to see it destroyed; that, and it currently housed both his new arsenal of hammers and the treasures of Asgardia that he had managed to recover so far. “But do not touch anything that remotely reassembles a hammer.”

“You can keep your hammer – I don’t even like them.” Not that he would touch anything, but the warning was noted. For the most part, but if circumstances were altered? Maybe he would have. Still, this wasn’t a social call- nor one of his constant urges for a fight. This was something far more important. Survival.

“Now,” he said, making his way forward and stepping aboard. “You’re going to help me find a way to stop it.” As for what it was, Ky wasn’t going to stay, but only since he only knew part. A reason to why he was here instead of drinking somewhere or burning down buildings.

mysticmastered:

[SMS→HELLDOUCHE]: You just asked me to help you to be better.
[SMS→HELLDOUCHE]: Literally just a few moments ago.
[SMS→HELLDOUCHE]: You can scroll up and see for yourself.
[SMS→HELLDOUCHE]: Have you forgotten who you’re talking to as well?
[SMS→HELLDOUCHE]: I’m one of those ‘lesser creatures’, asshole.

[ SMS→ STRANGE ]: Yes, I did.
[ SMS→ STRANGE ]: You’re not like them.
[ SMS→ STRANGE ]: Like the rest I mean.
[ SMS→ STRANGE ]: You may be a lesser, but you’re different.
[ SMS→ STRANGE ]: Now, when should I drop by?

He fixes Ky with a cautious glare, mouth pressed into a thin line, but makes no effort to reply. He knew that the man’d find a way to throw it back in his face, rejected in the same way as all his other attempts at conversation had been. It’s why, on this occasion, which was his first visit to Ky’s quarters in a while that he showed up not to waste time on senseless debates, but to impart new information.
“I had been, until Father bid me to return. He gave me instructions to meet him in the main hall of the palace, and meant for you to attend as well.” Stepping off to the side, he moved clear of the door as it spilled rays of sunlight into the darkened room. It crossed his mind to ask why Ky’lar preferred to see by shadows rather than the bright rays of daytime, but he let such thoughts go for now.

“Shall we depart? Or would you rather be escorted by royal guard?”

“I’d rather being doing several things,” he mused. To say them wouldn’t gain him any favors, but he knew eventually they would come out. Even so, his moods were turning darker, and it was all he could do to stay away from everyone.
So, he chose seclusion, and trying to leave Asgard than actually bringing anything up. That way, he could deal with this on his own, and he didn’t have to worry about anyone else getting more involved than they already were.It might not have been the best of ideas, but it was the only one that he had.
“However,” he finally said, sucking in a deep breath, and turning towards Thor, “I don’t need guards.” Part of him wanted to spit out that he needed space, but he managed to hold his tongue in check for the moment. No, if he was being asked for, it had to either be something important or… maybe it was just a way to get Ky out of his seclusion.
No matter what the case was, he ran his right hand through his hair with a grunt. “Let’s get this over with.” Or, rather, the sooner they got it over with, the sooner Ky could come back to his quarters and ignore everyone. “Unless, you have something else to do first.”

“HALF-BREED! I know not why the All-Father has invited your kind, but come! Drink!” A large goblet of mead was held in the air as Thor’s words boomed through the feasting hall. “Unless you are too weak for mead… I am sure that we have something in the kitchens for milk drinkers like yourself!”

Ky was about to make the note that he didn’t have a kid. He wasn’t a human and that he wasn’t entirely a demon either. The only problem was he knew waisting air on voicing that fact wouldn’t gain him any favors. Especially when it was clear Thor already had it out for him… in more ways than one. “I’ve drank the hardest alcohol on Earth,” he said bluntly. “I think I can handle a little mead.”

Why she thought this would be easy, she had no idea. “I am not asking you to. I am asking only that you pass a message on to someone who might.”

image

“Tell me,” he said, hands slipping into his pockets. “Do you really believe i’ll pass the message along? As far as I can tell, messages – all messages seem to get lost in translation.” A quick two second pause, “However, i’m sure we can work something out.”
