“Color me interested. I’ll at least hear ya out.” Logan raised an eyebrow at the man before him. He wasn’t oozing power, but he didn’t seem weak, which could spell danger for him if the other was the kind of guy to seek trouble. He’d been making a bit of a life in this town as its newest resident that was slowly making himself a presence in the community. Yet, every time he got settled, something would come along and hurt or kill those he was closest to.

Ky had truthfully gotten farther than he had expected in this conversation already. Not that it mattered too much to him – what he knew about Logan was close to nothing. So, he was treading on dangerous waters – waters that at any moment could breed violence. A reason to why he was attempting to keep his tongue in check ( more or less ). “First,” he said, “How about a round – on me, of course.”

“And why would I handle it?” Natasha said, still not acknowledging his presence in any physical way. “What do you need the distraction for? And I don’t see why mass destruction would be a problem as long as it doesn’t end in anyone’s death–I’d probably use the same method. If you’re willing to take lives for such a thing on the other hand, as an Avenger I wouldn’t be able to comply.” Not that she ever followed the group’s no kill rule.

“no one is willing to admit it, but death is something that comes for everyone,” he said bluntly. “sometimes, you have to take a life to complete a mission, or save others.” not that ky ever willingly would save anyone, but that was besides the point. “what i need is simply an entire area to be focused on one thing. i just need to slip into a place and grab something.” a pause. “no one will get hurt… if things go right.”

Prepared to entertain a certain level of resistance to his claims, for it felt as though Ky was predisposed to disagreeing with him at every hurdle encountered, when he hears him renounce his human heritage it becomes an issue that Thor cannot help but show his discontent for.

“Be that as it may, it does not give you licence to kill humans.”

A brave rebuff, but he doesn’t maintain momentum by bothering to uphold his position on the matter. Worn down, Thor’s shoulders sagged, the corners of his mouth turning downwards as he reached the final stretch of his attempts to dispel the other’s negativity; a task akin to moving through muck, for all who cared to try. “Clearly you are as selective with your hearing as you are with focusing your attention.” There was no gainsaying the flat certainty that Ky’lar was unlike the others. And whilst he could acknowledge the fact that the implicated half-breed was not of sound mind when committing the murders, the blond was still stubborn enough to believe that he was not beyond help.

“I want to help you, Ky’lar, should you permit me to do so.”

“i don’t need your help!” the truth was, he did – far more than he would ever admit, but that was the obvious. whatever trust ky had with thor, he wasn’t going to put his ‘life’ in the other’s hands – maybe he would if the moment called for it, but now? not really. it just wasn’t what he wanted to do.

“people die every-day, thor. what if i kill – no, slaughter a few hundred? it’s nothing in the longer scheme of things. nothing!” actually, it was – truth be told, ky had killed far more than just a few hundred in his life-time. he didn’t even remember them; all he knew was it helped kill the urge that was right under his skin at times.

“humans are weak and fragile. they die with-out any effort on my part. say a few words, put on a show, and they bow.” not that it mattered to ky – if he wanted to, he’d take over a realm for himself, but he wasn’t ready for that yet. maybe if he had more control, but for now? all it would amount to is being stuck in a cage in his grandfather’s realm for several years.

“it might not give me licence to kill them, but they are easy prey. if i had access to other worlds, don’t you think i’d go to them? i’m stuck here – either in my grandfather’s realm or here. there is no in-between. not even if i wanted to.” oh, there were ways, but he just didn’t feel like going about them.

One to differ, Thor felt tempted to challenge the man over making that point, that yes, as inadvisable as it sounded, he had wished to see Ky’s worst cast if to prove that he was prepared to deal with it. He was thus quick to speculate that this rebuff of assistance, whilst not unexpected, was done out of fear moreso than anything else. Illogical behaviour that reflected a soul in turmoil.

But then, their talk took a sharp turn down a corridor he did not wish to explore; Ky’s life, left in his hands. “Ky’lar, I–” Cutting himself short, the blond’s mouth would open, close, then open again, all without sound. His word, should he choose to give it, held a kind of currency that went far and beyond the worth a promise made by a mortal would hold.

“Very well. Should such action be necessary, I will intervene, if to respect your wish. But only then.”

ky wished he could say that it would never be necessary. then again, he wished many things didn’t happen, but here he was – on the verge of losing himself to his own urges. his own darkness that he couldn’t control – not even if he attempted to do so.

each time, things got worse, and he feared that he’d never be able to come back from whatever he truly was. the only problem was ky didn’t realize ( or he didn’t truly understand ) that it was part of him. his other half wasn’t just a beast – it was him. he just distanced himself from it as…. it was easier to play it off his own inability to resit temptations in that state.

“it will be.” more than likely not – ky didn’t yet realize he’d have more control over himself in that form, but to do so… he’d have to accept every part of himself. accept that he’d eventually have to chose between what he wanted to be and that eventually there would be no in between points.  it was something he wasn’t ready for – didn’t think he’d ever be ready for, but he’d eventually have to be ( more or less ).

either way,  he ran his hands through his hair, and he tried to focus; maybe that way he’d be able to get through this with-out too much damage. though, the reality was doubtful – very doubtful. “It will be necessary,” he said, eyes closing tightly as he let that mortal facade slip away; finally giving into what he’d been fighting to become. “- it always is.”

“i wouldn’t call it really a problem.” actually, ky would call it an improvement, but then again, he could go back to drinking all the time as well. maybe that way… he wouldn’t be as angry all the time. “some would call it an improvement form drinking three-sixty-five.”

That would be much harder than he’d expected. Rolling his eyes, he tried to ignore the teasing. ❛ —— so you’ll completely ignore me ?? I wouldn’t do that if I were you. ❜

‘think of it as selective hearing.’ that way, it wasn’t exactly ignoring, but in reality? yeah, it really was. ‘or i could just… tear you apart piece by piece.’ a shrug. ‘your choice really.’

“I BELIEVE THAT WOULD be a little hard,” he said, arms firmly crossing his chest, “I was BORN on earth. so, you’d WASTE all that energy for nothing.” either way, there was still the point as to WHY he was here in the first place – a question that would be solved as he took a few steps forward. “so, how ‘bout we skip the THREATS, and you answer my questions.”
