“So remind me again why people are scared of you? Unless you made that up.”

“My dear, i’ve never made anything up. Humans just fear what they don’t understand.” A shrug. “Most of the time at least.”

“I’m not exactly the best person to be around.” It was an admission he was comfortable giving due to the fact it was the truth. Not entirely the truth, but none the less, he figured admitting it would serve  him well. At least for the moment. “—- never have been.”

Nick snorted a brief laugh, glancing up at Ky’lar. The man was pretty, had that going for him. But Nick had experience in this arena. Knew it was almost always a waste of effort.

“Spoiler: they won’t. Even if things go well, you’ll trip at the finish line. Or someone on your team will decide that the final stage of your master plan is the perfect time to stage a coup. Most villains are just unreliable, from the start.“

“The same could be said about most heroes.” Of course, Ky tried to keep interactions with most people to a minimum. There was  always a tendency to kill them if they got under his skin. Not to mention throw them to the ‘wolves’ if things started to go south.

“When something doesn’t go to plan they start in-fighting and then all hell breaks lose.” Not to mention the damage they caused, but quite honestly… that was besides the point. “It doesn’t matter their titles… people are always going to do what they want.”

No! That’s the exact opposite of what I want.” Bobby called out, blasting the sides of buildings into a slick sheet of glassy ice. “I should be doing something more appropriate for an X-Man, and not doing the job of people who get paid to do this.”

“Don’t tell me you lit this fires – I would hate to have to ice over such a handsome stranger.”

“You don’t get paid to be an X-man?” Ky couldn’t help, but roll his eyes at his own statement.  “Such a shame – you should be doing greater things than cleaning up fires.” As for what? He didn’t know, but he  figured something more than cleaning after one simple fire.

“You’d really ice me over?” He asked sarcastically. “I thought we were great friends!”

he didn’t like it here; stuck in a cage. stuck in an area with no escape. shouldn’t have even came here or been anywhere near here. it was an action he was going to pay for – was paying for actually.

“—- you’ve had your fun.” though, he wouldn’t exactly call it that. he was akin a caged animal. one that would lash out the moment he had a chance – if he had a chance rather.

there were only so many positive outcomes that could ultimately come from the situation they were in.  if they failed,  it would look bad on the both of them,  but failure wasn’t an option.  not this time around – a reason to why ky was hoping grant would extinguish the last witness. no one needed to know they were there and ky didn’t need anyone; be it shield, hydra, or otherwise trying to track them down.

❛     take the shot.    ❜    his arms slipped from his pockets to behind his back.    it was an order –  the first one he’d ever issued towards grant,   but it wouldn’t be the last.    ❛  — or i will.    ❜    not that ky would have ever lowered himself into firing a gun – grant must have known that already,   but there were… other ways he could handle this one.    ways that were much  more painful than a simple bullet.
