. ky probably cares more than he lets on, or at least ONCE he had. he remembers his warnings, how his powers might go a little haywire if people weren’t careful. CLEARLY that means he doesn’t always want to destroy things…even if it’s fun sometimes. bobby’s lips purse, small worry lines forming in his brow.
❝ wish i could say the same. i mean, it IS nice to know you’re not like, dead, or anything, but… ❞ not like he wants to see him on the other SIDE.
❝ goes without saying i can’t let you do more of this, bud. any chance you’d come QUIETLY?
❞
ky NEVER had full control of his abilities; not even now. try as he might, he DIDN’T stay long enough to achieve that. no, he stayed until he got a handle on things, and the left. the WHY had came up a few times and while he WISHED that he had a true answer… the only one he could give was that he became far to COMFORTABLE there. so, in his mind, it was SAFER if he left… for EVERYONE – especially if his FATHER started coming around.
still, he took in a deep breath, and let out out slowly. WISHING he could explain everything was one thing, but DOING SO was another story completely. ❝ no. ❞ a simple word, but one that ky would stand by. he wouldn’t simply come quietly – not if he had the chance at least. ❝ not a chance. ❞ a pause. ❝ maybe ONCE i would have, but… if you knew anything about me these days? you’d know i can’t do that. NOT now. ❞
“Believe me I would if I could.” As it was there were no doors out here. “Could you get to the point then, if all you want is to talk?” She doubted that was all he wanted, but she wasn’t going to help him anyway, so why not get some information out of it? She continued to walk away from him, confident he’d follow. Men just couldn’t take no for an answer, could they?
“i need a distraction,” he said, making sure to keep up pace as he followed. “one that i’m quite sure you can… handle.” at least for a short period of time, but even then…. there was doubts that she’d even listen him. still, he had to try. “of course, my other option is mass destruction – unless you prefer that.”
“so you can kill them too? I’m not letting that happen.” she didn’t want to kill him or even hurt him but if it would save someone else’s life, she would. she’s not going to let anyone else be put in danger for a mistake she’d made of trusting someone she shouldn’t again. “don’t make me do this. surrender now and I’ll make sure they go easy on you.” they’ll imprison him most likely but that was better than death.
“it’s not like that.” he wasn’t going to hurt them – was he? possibly not, but there was still a chance he could. a reason to why he was attempting to keep himself under control. well, more or less at least. “you know me – call your friends or otherwise… i’m not going to surrender. not when i know it won’t change things.”
@vireous [mephisto] asked: “i once told you that i had great plans for you, odinson.” a truth of sorts as mephisto dropped the unworthy god on the ground. “now, you shall serve me by keeping an eye on my grandson,” he gripped the thunderer’s chin for a few moments, “by being his latest pet and making sure he stays right where i want him to. in my realm.”
Fingers probe at ashen earth, form stirring as the demon continues to gloat. He knew of the schemes Mephisto crafted, the glimmer of hope he extended to the desperate before snatching it away, catching the gullible in his trap. He knew better than to fall for such ruses, even though he had plummeted so far, still choosing to decline all offers as he was dragged to the demon’s realm.
“The son of Odin obeys no dev-” Cut short before he could finish his threat, Thor tried to break free, but found that his strength was failing, leeched away at the liesmith’s touch. Grimacing, he muttered something unpleasant, dropping to his hands and knees when the other finally released him, leaving behind instructions to follow.
Annoyed, he rubbed at his chin, watching the devil depart whilst brushing his fingers against a beard that badly needed a trim. What was it he had said about keeping an eye on Ky’lar? The blond had scarcely any time to consider this detail when the rustling of heavy chains emanates from a corner over his shoulder, followed by a low growl.
That can’t be good.
“Identify yourself, creature.” Inquiring, Thor turned his whole body around to face this menace lurking in the darkness.
creature. maybe that was the best thing to call him line this; barely able to hold onto human form. it was painful to try – even more so when his more… feral instincts were starting to take over.
whatever mephisto had done… it wasn’t good. easily controlled impulses became almost impossible to restrain. the urge to simply rip away any guise was strong – stronger still when he saw thor.
it took every fiber of his being not to shift into one of a monster; more so than usual, ky tried to keep his human looks. that way, he wouldn’t have to truly face what he had truly become.
it was a false hope, but one he held to as he moved closer; hands at his sides, clenched into tight fists as he moved closer. true, thor wasn’t someone he had thought to see here, but then again… he didn’t think he’d really see anyone. not for quite a while longer.
“odinson.” his head tilted after he said the name, eyebrow lifting. “you’re quite a long ways… from home.” that was only the start of it, but he wasn’t in the mood to ask more questions. especially in this state. “get lost on the bifrost?”
“What you are, does it ever – – bother you? Y’know, not bein’ – – like everyone else?”
“has it ever occurred to you that not everyone likes to answer questions?” a smirk spread across his lips for a few moments. “ask yourself; does truly it matter and why does it really concern you.”
For a brief moment, Thor’s face twitched with impatience. The blatant attempt to mock him was an impressive effort, all things considered, but he took it in stride. He wasn’t shaken by it, nor was he annoyed enough to take action. Ky’s words had stung, but such a wound quickly healed.
“That is awfully specific,” he says, his words adopting a quiet ferocity. He might claim to be immune to Ky’s insults, but there was still the matter of them being aired that he needed to address. “What if someone claims my life before you have your turn? What will you do then? Pray for my resurrection?”
“i could, but why give them the chance?” it was ky’s own way of saying he wanted to end this. right here and now. why give others even an ounce of opportunity? if anyone was going to take the god’s life, it would be ky – not his father, not some serpent. himself.
“why pray for your return when we can settle this with-out having to wait upon fate to have the right time?” maybe it was bold of him to even admit such a thing, but he knew it had to be said eventually. “no tricks, no resurrections, and no family getting involved. what do you say?”
Short or not, the fact that it had happened had been more than enough for the maddened aesir, removed from his godly status by the whisper of a mortal. And now their kin, the creatures that rose above all others to become the dominant form of life on this wretched rock, had created another mortal with demon blood in his veins. And the unspoken permission to wield a powerful weapon like mjolnir.
Hands bound to the hammer, Odinson’s first instinct was to pry it free from his hold, snapping fingers like twigs as need be. But, as the weapon’s magicks began to restore its wielder, the blond found he was unable to slacken his grip, turning instead to another idea; pummelling Ky’s face.
Moving into position, he was poised to rain down a series of strikes when the mallet struck him in the chest, a gentle strike that, like before, sends him flying towards the nearest wall, the structure crumbling around him from impact. Downed for what felt like five minutes, but was only a fifth of the time, the bits of rubble fly out in all directions as the Odinson stands on shaky feet, swaying noticeably. The faint outline of mjolnir had marked his chest where it had struck.
“Ky’lar! You insufferable cur! Return thine hammer back to me at ONCE.”
“you want the hammer?” a question he knew the absolute answer to. thor was unworthy, it didn’t want him, but he wanted the object back. a weapon to build or destroy. funny, ky always thought he’d be the one on the receiving end of it. stuck under it’s weight and unable to move.
those days were long passed – he’d learned and he wouldn’t go back to how he was. no, not while he had it in his grasp, but even ky knew the hammer was just a tool. he didn’t need – not really, but it helped.
so, if thor wanted the hammer back? he’d give it to him. just… not in the way he thought as he made his way towards the other. true, this was a risky play, but it was worth it. it had to be in all reality.
“then have it!” shortly after his words, he threw mjolnir right at the other’s chest. it was a way to keep the other down and also show just who was more worthy of it. at least for the moment.
“i just don’t see how this is my problem,” he said arms crossing over his chest. even if it was, ky didn’t feel like he was needed. if strange couldn’t do this on his own? it was on him. “focus on one or the other.” either way, he wasn’t going to help – not unless he absolutely had to. even then? it would be up for debate.
whatever johnny did… it wasn’t good. not that ky could complain; he wasn’t a target. well, not yet at least, but even he knew that could change. hell might have been many things, but easy? not likely. especially when someone knew – of a sort – came into the scene.
either way, he had to hand it to him. whatever he did worked. now, ky wanted the opportunity to know the how if the situation. so, when the time came… maybe he could take what he truly deserved, but he wasn’t in a rush for it.
no, maybe at one point he was, but now? he’d rather just sit back and watch everyone fight it out. that way, all he’d have to do is swoop in behind them when the time came. it might not have been the easiest way of things, but it would suffice. for the time being at least.
“No you can’t just kill everyone. I won’t allow that and neither will any of the other Avengers and I know— you know that.”
He shook his head walking over to the man and placing his hand on his shoulder, trying to help him know that there was someone that cared. “Ky’lar, you can’t think this way. You can do it— you can change the way people see you but it takes time. I’ve been there, needing to change the perception of others, even my own perception of who I was. It’s not easy but nothing worth something ever is.”
“yeah, well, it makes no difference to me.” maybe at one point it would have made a true impact on his actions. maybe he would have even pushed the thought out of his mind, but he truly thought he could take the avengers on.
ky was many things. though, at the root of it all… he was still a child. one that while he tried to fix things… he just made them worse. so, he went back to habits that he had been trying to break. more so since it was far easier to do that than anything else – at least to him. “you can’t change what you are.” a pause. “what i am.”
