“just do as i say.” he was going to continue on saying that they should stick to the plan, but it wasn’t worth the effort the effort. “can you do that?”
was he referring to himself or Ward? it’s clear that there’s been a misunderstanding on her part but how much was she supposed to tell him to explain it? she knew what the others on the team would say —— they’d all have plenty of words to offer in regards to the former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent turned traitor. so does she on a bad day. she’d been so angry with him for so long but it’s not fair to project that on Ky’lar. he hasn’t done anything wrong. “I don’t know, english wasn’t my favorite subject in school.”
“what do you see when you look at me?” a simple question. one that he knew had to be asked. it might not have been the best way to go about it nor the easiest either, but he had to know. he had to know what she thought of him… at least look-wise. it may have been odd- even to him, but he wanted to know where he stood… even if he didn’t know exactly how to ask it.
“i’m the son of blackheart, not a blasted miracle worker.” while he may have had a fraction of his father’s own power, there was still much he couldn’t do. more to the point, as much as he tried… there was always push back. be it from his own family or even himself.
if it was up to him, he wouldn’t have been doing this at all, but still… he was trying to behave. after his last few escape attempts… he decided the only way forward was giving -somewhat- into the demands. so, he got some small freedoms, and was using that time to formulate a plan to escape.
then again, in some respects, ky admired that they wanted to keep him locked away, but all the same… he craved freedom. more to the point he still wanted to give into those urges and damn the consequences of any and all actions.
“if you just stayed out of my way… we wouldn’t be in this situation.” a doubtful notion. eventually, someone would have managed to corner him, and do much worse than simply having him confined. he knew that and yet… he didn’t even care.
“more to the point,” he continued as he stopped writing for the moment, “do you really think my father will let me rot in here forever?” even if he did, all ky had to do was appeal to a higher court of sorts, and he would be back to his usual destructive habits in no time. then again, spending time in mephisto’s realm wasn’t…wanted, but it was far more enjoyable than his current situation.
“this isn’t what it looks like.” hands stayed at his sides as he walked towards her; bodies all around him. “this… really isn’t.” but it was. it really was… ky had lost control and he killed everyone. just because he lost his temper.
head tilted / arms crossed. cocky smirk hinting at the power at her fingertips : a BLUFF. her arms hurt, bones too cracked to use her power for little more than emergencies. focuses on the natural vibrations around her – something about them seem o f f when it comes to him. “weird” mutters under her breath, shows nothing else “asking nicely / seen anything strange around here ?” / s.c, @hellfirebound
the only thing strange around here was the one before him. it was already clear shouldn’t have even been here. not to mention that looking over his shoulder was the usual these days. he just didn’t expect to be bothered. a reason to why his arms crossed over his chest as he spoke, “nothing more than the usual.” more importantly, he couldn’t out-right say herself. no, he wasn’t in that sort of mood at the moment to point out the obvious. maybe later.
“don’t get me wrong, i do enjoy our time together, but don’t think this is anything more than what it simply is.” more to the point, ky didn’t care about her, and doubted that he actually would anytime soon.
it was for the best after-all. he wasn’t part of shield. nor did he ever wish to be. in-fact, he was on their watch lists due to the fact of what he had done, and would do again, and again. a simple fact that would always get him in trouble, but all the same, he didn’t think it was too important. not when he was trying to be better… at leas that’s what he told himself.
“you sure about that?” rather, he wanted to make sure it was what she really wanted before he did anything, “i could stay.”
why is this so important to him? he’d asked the question not once but twice and he seemed overly curious about her answer. if it was some kind of test then she’d obviously failed since she meant what she said —-
she’s not a murderer. the way he reacts is enough to confirm that he is though which only makes her wonder what he really wanted here. he wouldn’t be talking to her if he didn’t have something to gain but what?“you don’t know that. you don’t know the future and you don’t know me.” this is why she doesn’t handle the interrogations. he doesn’t know what he was talking about so he needs to shut the hell up but she can’t outright say that without stepping on someone’s toes. “not everyone is capable of turning into a cold-blooded killer and even if you were right, it won’t happen.”
“you don’t know humanity like i do.” it was a simple assessment given what he knew about humans in general. they were cruel, filled with anger, and unstable. they killed what they didn’t understand and they locked away anyone who didn’t think as a majority of their species did. there were many things ky could have said about humans in general, but he wasn’t about to go into that. no, not now, but maybe down the line he would. “any moment… of any second… of any day… they can turn. i’ve seen it before and i will see it again.”
“Me too.” Colleen said, she glanced away from him upset but sad. She didn’t want it to be like this but Colleen had a track record of not having some great lovers. What she didn’t want was to find him on the other end of her katana one day. Maybe he would really disappear and maybe, someday, they’d be alright.
“What do you want?” She asked after a moment of a silence. What was it that would make him change? Colleen wasn’t even sure if people could change so why would Ky want to change for her? “Aren’t I just another human you think you own?” The words, as harsh as they were, weren’t meant to make him upset but rather to point out that they weren’t going to work even from the beginning of all of this. She wasn’t his equal, as much as she teased him she wasn’t actually sure if he ever saw her as an equal. “It’s not like it’ll matter, Ky.” She added quietly, glancing away from him.
it was true, it wouldn’t matter. no matter what ky did, it wouldn’t really matter, and while he would have enjoyed to stay here… it wasn’t possible. no, it never would be possible. maybe if he had control – real control -, but that wouldn’t ever happen. ky was sure of that… still, didn’t mean he couldn’t at least try for her.
“you’re not… just someone i own.” he thought buying things for her would work. even to buy her was a feet he rarely did for anyone, but still… it wasn’t that simple. he thought the both of them knew that. “you’re more than that. ” a pause, “i’ll do anything to prove it to you. i swear it.”
