Cool blue eyes regards the male in front of him as the annoyance burns his way through his system. His whole demeanor saying this was not a conversation he wished to partake in but for now he’d simply indulge the other. ❝ Depends who you ask and yet you do nothing but show childish traits. ❞ Brow raisng in challenge to his words as he brings arms up to cross over his chest. He wished to ask about the othe sentence but figured the answer was not something he wished to hear unless he wanted his ire spiked higher than it currently was.
❝ and according to most i’m still a child. ❞ a slight smirk spread across his lips, ❝ most days, but i do wonder. are you always like this? always so…boring? ❞ it was an attempt to jab at the other, but all the same, he was at least being ‘decent’, ❝ i mean, there is all this hype, but all i see… is an old man. ❞
. bobby’s eyebrows climb and he barely stops himsel from blurting out the next question on his mind. what had he done? but it’s probably better NOT to know. ❝ some days i think i’d be better off in prison than in one of logan’s classes, ❞
he says, trying to pass it off as a joke, but his laughter is a little nervous.
❝ logan’s classes aren’t so bad. ❞ well, at least compared to the ‘hell’ he had been through, ❝ maybe a bit… challenging, but i’ve been through worse. ❞ though, even that was up for debate, ❝ personally? i would love to see logan go up against my father. now, that… would be interesting. ❞
❛ you know that i have to stop you, right ? ❜ it’s a statement more than a question. she doesn’t know what happens to someone such as him if his plans are left to come to fruition, but natasha is pretty damn sure she knows what i means for her, and the rest of humanity.
❛ did you really think we wouldn’t stand in your way?❜
it always came down to the obvious, but then again, if it was up to him, he wouldn’t have any resistance at all. just a simple get-in, get-out, and get the job done. of course, life never exactly was easy — he learned that the hard way long ago. a reason to why he had attempted to calculate almost all possibilities. up to and of course, including this one, ❛ i was hoping… it could have been avoided. ❜ he spoke the honest truth, but then again, he was far beyond his means with what he was planning. he also knew that if he didn’t play his cards properly, there would be no second chances, and he would find everything he had worked towards crumbled around him, ❛ —– then again, this isn’t the first time i’ve been wrong, and it won’t be the last either. ❜
“Oh, I do remember. It’s one of the things you never let me forget. You’re like a moody teenager.” If he was going to perfectly honest with himself, there was no guarantee Ky was going to like the actual gift either. It had just been the one Grant had worked much harder to obtain.
When Ky insists it be retrieved for him, Ward simply shrugs his shoulders and goes to the closet to grab out a small, heavily fortified cage, one fit for an exotic and dangerous animal. To Grant the cage looks empty, but he can hear the feisty little growls from the creature inside nonetheless. “For all I know…the thing’s a mutt, but he’s supposed to come from a purebred line of these things. Hell hounds, I think you call them. You two can hate everything together and he can maul people for you.”
ky was many things — moody teenager ( for the most part ), just seemed to be the most accurate description for the time being. of course, he never would admit that —- even if it was just a step above being called a child, “ well, let’s just say, i don’t care what you think of me.” rather, he didn’t seem to mind. hating the world around him in general was easy, but specific people? that was a bit harder… especially when he actually enjoyed their company —– even to an extent.
a reason to why when he saw the fortified cage, it caused an eyebrow to lift. in truth, he was expecting ward to throw a bucket of holy water on him or… something like that. then again, anyone getting him a gift ( even a crappy one ) was unexpected. he just was greedy and didn’t show his… excitement or even being impressed well.
it was then ky slowly let a grin spread across his lips; he was amused. though, he wouldn’t exactly state he was impressed. not around ward, not around anyone, but all the same, he was pleased. so, that was a step up from his usual grouchiness of a sort around… well, anyone.
“—– i do wonder how you came across one of these things. couldn’t have been easy.” as much as ky wanted to say he was pleased, he couldn’t… not yet anyways, but he knew something that would be close… at least in his own way, “either way, we are going to have loads of fun together. the little guy might even chew up someone you know some day, ward.”
Fitz wasn’t sure about this op. He was just an extra pair of boots on the ground more than anything but he had a strange feeling prickling the back of his neck as he moved around the noisy club with a drink in hand. He desperately wanted to down it to ease his nerves but he was pretending to sip it in case anyone was watching him for suspicious behavior.
This wasn’t his natural habitat. Despite the knowledge that this wasn’t real life, just an op, he felt uncomfortable—and worse—vulnerable. He rubbed the back of his neck as he sat down at the bar, turning to the bloke next to him to perhaps start up a conversation and keep from seeming so out of place.
“Does the bartender ever even get down to this end of the bar?” he asked, chuckling. It’d taken him twenty minutes to get the drink he had, not that he really needed another.
“not unless you flash a few hundreds in their face.” well, that was one way of putting it. even though he could already tell it was going to be one of ‘those’ days. everything managed to feel off — even worse normal communication with someone didn’t feel right.
of course, if it was up to him, he would have stayed as far away as possible from everyone. that way, he could relax with out having to deal with other people. the case and point was right near him, “then again,“ he continued on, “ they don’t like me that much.” he could have elaborated more on the subject, even as to the reasons to why, but instead, the man moved to take a sip of his own drink.
“not these days at least.” he mused as he gave the other a short once-over, “so, they might be thinking you’re one of mine, but then again? maybe they don’t like your outfit…. or looks.”
HOW IN THE HEL DID HEROES DO THIS ?oh , how loki wished it were easier ; chasing after the new so-called ’ villains ’ , putting them in their place . his favorite bit , though , was how the long evil monologues had become catchy ONE-LINERS . he’d , um , yet to come up with a good one . even now , after going through the trouble to chase these idiots down , loki stood there — thoughtful and frustrated . his hand was extended in front of him , fingers curled slightly in a half-assed attempt to keep the man in front of him suspended at least ten feet from the ground. ‘ … i don’t even think thor has a catchphrase . i suppose it’s ‘ for asgard ’ though though that’s hideously boring . oh , captain america has something about justice or . . . i don’t know , GOD , or something— ’ his voice trailed off when he sensed someone’s presence behind him—damn , do the monologues truly never end ?he cast a look over his shoulder , lips pursing as he looked from the stranger to his current . . . victim? catch ?either way . . .
‘ how likely is it that you’ll believe me if i say thisisn’t what it looks like ? ’
IT WAS ALWAYS SOMETHING. ky was rapidly approaching the ONEWEEK mark of not getting in trouble. he was FINALLY managing to keep his NOSE out of things, but as per-usual, that FAILED. a reason to why his hands balled into tight fists OUT OF A HABIT that he couldn’t just seem to break. ‘ about as LIKELY as it is that you’re just having a BAD DAY.’ he shouldn’t have raised his voice — not when he was trying to KEEP OUT of trouble, but all the same, there it was as he made his way closer. just close ENOUGH so he could make a CLEAR view on the situation the other was in.
either way, he pulled out his phone for a FEW QUICK MOMENTS — checking the time and then the date. a deep sigh soon after escaped his lips, ’ no matter, i’m NOT cleaning this up, and i’ve hit —’ONE, TWO, THREE SECONDS PASSED as he moved to check the time again on his phone, ‘ one week with out GETTING INTO ANY TROUBLE.‘
he then slid the phone back into his pocket; his arms FOLDING CALMLY BEHIND HIS BACK as his attention shifted towards the man that was SUSPENDED in the air, ‘ now, ‘ his voice became slightly more relaxed, ‘ if you’re going to drop someone, i would SUGGEST someplace that is more into ETERNAL torment.’ a pause, ‘ might i suggest MEPHISTO’S realm? ’
Those words provided little comfort, and
Thor would have to refuse this stranger entry. From Heimdall’s stance, it was
clear that he felt the same way. The relics in the vault were closely guarded,
and the Allfather would most likely refuse his request. Besides, Thor had learned
about each relic by heart, and he hadn’t heard of anything that could be used
against demons. The Casket of Ancient Winters was a formidable weapon, but
unless the demon had no ice or fire capabilities, it would prove useless.
“There are no relics here that
wield the power you speak
of. And if there were…we
would not hand them over to
you so lightly.”
The strength of Asgard was difficult to
overcome. Thor knew that for certain. But he also knew that he shouldn’t
underestimate this man. Whoever he was, he had enough knowledge to access the
Bifrost and search for the relics there. Holding his hand out, he felt the
sudden rush as Mjolnir hurtled
through the air, sliding into his grasp. It was a veiled warning not to pursue
that path any longer.
“I believe it is time for you
to depart.”
He could, of course, use the library to search for that elusive relic, but his earlier words – I’m willing to do whatever’s needed to obtain it – had given the impression that he would do the Asgardians harm. And that was something Thor would never allow to happen.
There was no doubt in his mind that this was starting to turn sour. Ky could already feel it down in his toes that he wasn’t going to get anything out of this last-ditch effort. If Asgard wouldn’t at least let him obtain a weapon ( even temporarily ) or even get information? What choice did he really have left to get rid of his little… nuisance.
A deep breath was taken in and then let out slowly as the other’s words confirmed his suspicions; he wasn’t going to be able to do what he wanted. Not to say the option wasn’t expected. It was, but…. he had hoped that it could have been avoided.
“It’s more so borrowing.”
Even has Mjolnir came to be in the other’s grasp, the Demon knew that he had to keep his resolve on the task at hand. If anything, he had to keep his focus, and not let his mind wander on possibilities…. especially on what what ‘if’s’ of the situation.
A deep breath was taken in and then let out slowly; his words had to be focused, to the point, and not where they could be taken at base value. Even though it was already clear to Ky that his little ‘risk’ for coming here wasn’t going to pay off.
“Of a sort.”
However, he had one slight trick up his sleeve that he was hesitant to use, a reason to why he made sure to fold his arms calmly behind his back as he spoke again.
“If you don’t have anything here, i’m sure that something, or someone could point me in the right direction.”
It was a risk, a major one to even suggest such a thing, but he was doing so out of necessity… rather than want. Not to mention that if he had been younger, he would have had loads of questions for the one before him — even more for whoever he could speak with, but that was ultimately besides the point. Not to mention either here nor there.
“Especially since this is more so of an urgent matter. Even more so if… other family members get involved and decide to ultimately chose sides.”
His lips pursed into a thin-line after his words; it was part lie and part truth, but hopefully… if he made things sound more urgent things would start turning his way. Of course, on the other hand it could have made things much worse, but that was a risk he was willing to take.
❛ Unfortunately, I DON’T care what way this goes. It’s your little war, ❜ a pause as he took a step forward to issue his BOLD statement, ❛ Not MINE, nor will it EVER be. ❜
Eyebrow cocks in the general direction of the other even if Robbie was no longer looking at him. He was starting to think the other was out of his mind but that was a RELATIVE opinion. He sighs softly and shakes his head. ❝ And what ANSWERS are those ??. ❞
He wanted to ELABORATE on exactly why he wanted to ask the questions, but there was DOUBT the other would believe him. If Ky’s assumptions were right, Robbie’s other half might be able to SHED some light on how he could CONTROL himself or… just give him another CHALLENGE he would attempt to overcome. Either way, he didn’t seem to care about the other’s question… nor did he truly want their PERMISSION, ❝ To questions that i believe your other HALF would be able to answer. ❞
