‘ in my experience, there’s always something that serves are reason enough to come out of retirement. ’ the comment was tongue-in-cheek, in a way, and coupled by the smallest incline to one corner of her mouth ( though the amusement didn’t quite reach nat’s eyes ) she leaned in closer, voice dropping to a low whisper. ‘ so name your price. ’
her words were true ; there was always something that would get him to actually do something. he’d tried before, got shut down more times than he could count, and then stopped trying. after-all, it was far easier to commit crimes ( such as murder ), than try to actively stop them. ‘ my records wiped, ’ it was an attempt to get him invisible again — anything so he wouldn’t have to deal with anyone knowing more about him than absolutely necessary,‘as well as… any and all investigations into what i’ve done dropped. ’ it was a risk to even ask such a thing, but… he still didn’t feel like being in a high security prison anytime soon.
“Does it matter?” Ky’lar didn’t know what to expect, but in truth, he was just attempting to have a little fun. “I’m several things, but childish? Depends on who you ask. Is that a problem?” Even if it was, Ky doubted that he would truly care, but all the same, he had to ask, “It’s just two little words. Ironically, one’s i’ve known most of my life, but that’s another story… entirely.”
“Huh. Well, ‘cause you wanna hear me gloat for over an hour obviously?” he offered, an amused smirk spreading to his lips. “Oh come on, how does that work?”
“The better question is ‘how does anything work these days?’” A slight chuckle escaped his lips, “Gloat for an hour if you wish. I’m all ears….. just let me get a drink first.”
“You probably damaged a nerve, Ky.” She shook her head and placed her katana down on the table. “Lemme see it.” She motioned him to take the shoes off. “I still don’t get what ‘some fist’ means.”
“It’s nothing.” Actually, it was more than just nothing and at the same time, he wasn’t going to elaborate unless it was needed. Running, that he could do, but jumping from buildings? Well, that wasn’t exactly something enjoyed… especially when he was in an area he didn’t know quite well.
Either way, he took his shoes off with a grunt, “I pissed someone off, I ran – for once I might add, and well… you know.”
❛ what do you want ? I’m not here to flirt or anything . . ❜ the redhead said , taking another sip from her drink as she looked at the man who sat down next to her .
‘ is anyone ever here to simply flirt? ’ a slight grin pulled at the man’s lips for a few moments, ‘ most people these day’s have their mind set on one simple goal. ‘ a short pause, ‘ i’m sure you can figure out the rest. ’
“I prefer front doors,” he said. “They are what many people don’t expect and you can make more of an entrance that way. Windows… are a bit overrated if you ask me.”
“we’re not partners.” it didn’t matter what anyone said; ky wasn’t going to help anyone that he didn’t trust. it didn’t matter who it was, didn’t matter what was at stake, and didn’t matter why they were put together, “i don’t like you.”
“—- Alright, there are two things I have learned tonight. One, don’t run from a guy saying he’s some fist and two? Remind me to actually remember not to jump from a building. I still can’t feel my toes.”
of course it didn’t look like a scratch, but it wasn’t like ky was actually going to admit he was hurt. not when all it would do would cause more problems: he didn’t need anyone fussing over him. he wasn’t a child and he didn’t need anyone treating him like one. he could take care of himself.
it was why he attempted to bite back the rude remark, but in the end, he didn’t feel it was worth it, “Doesn’t matter anyways.” He said bluntly, “Why do you even care?” He may have been bleeding out, but he still couldn’t grasp why anyone – in their right mind – would actually take the time out of their day to worry about him.
When you realize that Ky’s part in infinity war is just sitting next to Blackheart sipping tea as he watches everyone fight. They possibly will also make jokes too.
