“Didn’t think I’d be seeing you again,” He smirks and props himself up on the bar counter despite the dirty looks from the bartender. Everyone knows him here, he doesn’t think they’re surprised anymore. Still, Johnny is quietly on alert. “You come come back for the view?”

“You do know that the view isn’t everything, right?” Even if it was one of the few reasons he was here, the primary reason was drinks, and then go from there. “I may enjoy it, but I won’t go out of my way to see it.” A shrug, “Well, usually.”

Peter paused, flinching ever so slightly when whatever it was that stepped toward him. He wasn’t sure he wanted this guy to get his hands on him.

You hurt those people. Peter said and clenched his fists. You hurt those people. And I’m here to bring you in. The…The Avengers will handle you. Peter tried his best to stay confident, and not show this guy that he was terrified.

“I fail to see how a few people mean anything to the grand scope of things. I mean, people get hurt, and die all the time.” That much was for certain, but at the same time, he doubted this was the proper time for debates on the subject.

“You see, you’re here, and the Avengers, is that what they call themselves? They are not.” Maybe he should have thrown off a few insults, but instead, he just made sure to decrease the distance between them, “Tell you what, I’ll even give you my name, and we can go from there.” His hands then clasped together tightly as he continued speaking, “Cause, the way it looks, your suit won’t do any good against me, and I can be decent… once in a while.”

         “It’s Ky’lar.”

Peter stilled. This was far worse than any other bad guy he had ever come up against. Tony told him to keep his feet on the ground. Small time stuff like bank robbers. But Peter could tell that this guy wasn’t just some bank robber.

Hey I’m not kidding dude…I said on the ground now.

There was a shakiness to his already higher pitched voice. His stance shifted as he flexed his fingers. Waiting for whoever this guy was to come at him.

Part of him wanted to state the obvious. To point out the fact that he wouldn’t do so unless he was forced. After-all, the one requesting it was someone in a mask, and more than likely was one of the ‘heroes’ that had happened to pop up in recent years.

A reason to why a deep sigh escaped his lips at the other’s words, “ I don’t think you heard me the first time. So, let me repeat it, yes? ”

The man took a few steps toward the other, “ I’m saying that if you want me on my knee’s, you better have a good excuse or even reason for it. ” Or, at least have the power to back the words up and in this case, Ky’lar doubted the other could honestly do so, “ So far, I just see someone in a mask, and who isn’t… impressive. ”

image

“ I don’t do that anymore.” A lie, he was just trying to save face, and not get involved. Every time he did so, it either blew up in his face, or he was told to stand aside. It was to that very reason he was making sure that he stayed out of everything —- even if he actually wanted to get involved, “Find someone else.”

he shouldn’t have even been there; getting caught was never something he enjoyed, but at the same time, it had it’s own set of perks. to get caught meant that someone ( or something ) was ( more than likely ) tracking down the same leads. then again, it was also more likely that they were here to stop things from getting too far. either way, it wasn’t something he enjoyed…. especially when all he was trying to do was get answers.

“—- and if i don’t?”

sighing, he knew that this
wouldn’t be easy. this kid had dug his heels in and nothing he said
would change his mind. he was here as more of a courtesy than
anything else and if necessary he could bring this kid in by force.
it wouldn’t be the first time that he’d done such a thing. but any
time shield sent him out he did try not to use force. it never ended
up well and it left a sour taste in his mouth. unfortunately, steve
knew he’d been sent for a reason and that reason was standing there
in front of him. letting him go would mean a long lecture from hill
but it wouldn’t be the first time.

“can’t run forever,”
he pointed out, wondering if the agents he’d been sent with were
coming in or not. they hadn’t talked about how things would play out
if their target decided to run. he couldn’t let this kid go. there
was something about him that felt off and letting him go meant
opening up the city to whatever dangers this kid brought with him.
“and if you give shield what they want they’ll leave you be.”
it wasn’t the best choices in the world but what else could he do?
steve didn’t like the idea of force but his gut told him it was the
only left for him to do.

“wish it were that
simple,” steve told him. “had hoped to avoid all this but
you’ve given me no choice.”

“do you really believe that?” honestly, there was a slim chance in his mind that shield would even let him go, and he wasn’t going to take that risk. going to them or even talking to them was a major complication.

more to the point, they could keep him in a cell indefinitely, and that would just make matters far worse. therefore, the only option he had was to stay as far away from them as possible, and with any luck, one step ahead of them ( even if that was doubtful ).

“you’re right, i can’t run forever. i could take a stand and fight.” of course, doing so wasn’t what he wanted, but at the same time, that didn’t mean he wouldn’t do so if he had to. he just didn’t want to deal with starting something he couldn’t finish, “i’m just not interested in having to deal with armed guards or torture.” or, in his case, getting captured, and possibly tortured.

“either way, you’ll do what you have to, and i’ll…. do the same.” the words were dry, he didn’t want a fight, but as per-usual, he rarely managed to take the course of action that would avoid such things.

there was part of him that wanted to go on a very LARGE rant about how much STRONGER BEINGS had tried to do so before. to throw out loud BOASTS about what he could do and eventually do them.

it was just on the TIP of his tongue to do so. to actually go into an AMUSED rant about how he DOUBTED the other could actually MAKE HIM GET ON HIS KNEES. yet, at the same time, he was still in a good mood, and that meant that he was at least going to INDULGE the other — if only for a MOMENT.

“—- how about you MAKE ME and the whole of CREATION, “ his upper lip twitched slightly, “ will know just who was able to FINALLY do it.”
