“We’ve got some pretty good rum that should do the trick. Kicks my ass every time I drink it.” he offered with a faint grin, reaching for a glass already. “You had a rough day or somethin’?” Most people who drank there did.

❝ Rough few years is more like it. ❞ It was always the same : get so far, then managed to get thrown almost back to the beginning —- maybe that was a reason he should have stopped while he was ahead, but as per-usual, listing to advice was always one of his downfalls,

❝ More or less… some good spots, but it always turns back to the same disappointment. ❞

hellstrcm:

out of the shadows and into the light. dying as it was above their heads, it finally made a girl out of a dark silhouette. nails tapping the cold wall she gave him a short glance and silently hummed under her nose.

    that’s odd — –
they never sent nannies after me.
   does DADDY DEAREST
think you are being a naughty boy?

a pause during which curiosity began taking over her features, satana made a step forward and cocked her head. she didn’t know his name, he was only familiar from stories of others and whispers in hell — and she hadn’t been there for quite a while.

    keeping you in check—
lest you go rogue?
i am no amusement at all, to be fair.
if anything— –

face lit up with a bit of a smile again, the demoness stopping a few feet away, charcoal eyes burning lightly, searching and waiting, building the space between her words.

   would say YOU are.

“You take away my FATHER’S name
and i’m simply like anyone else.”

Of course, that was completely up for debate. Even on Ky’s own merit’s he was   DANGEROUS.  His own blood line was only part of the cause. Yet, he would never admit that — blaming everything on lineage wasn’t going to solve his OWN problems.

“He just PREFERS me on
a TIGHTER leash some DAYS.”

There was more to it of course. As much as Ky wouldn’t admit it, most – if not all – of his problems BOILED down to his own ACTIONS.

“‘Course, I wouldn’t say
it’s going ROGUE.”

Ky would have just POINTED out that it was him doing what he ALWAYS did. He got what he wanted and most of the time out was just out of SPITE.

“I’m simply…. stepping
out of THEIR shadow.”

avalanchiing:

“really?” he raised an eyebrow, a little doubtful. to him, money really was everything. it was the only drive he had at that point in his life. it wasn’t exactly like he had much else going on. and he didn’t exactly have money anyway. “well….that don’t sound you were arrested then.” he shrugged, pulling a slight face. “not that it’s a bad thing or somethin’.”

“to be fair, any free food is good to me.” he joked, grinning. but maybe that was because he was pretty much hungry all the time.

“Being arrested isn’t all bad —- you get food, usually a few meals a day, and sometimes a room all your own.” Not that Ky’lar cared in all reality about what other’s went through, but he had been in enough cells to know that they were not all the same, and that time in prison or jail was relative to the person who was there.

“Though, I have to agree, but food can be so expensive these days, and most things are not even eatable.”

“Really?” Lance deadpanned, an eyebrow raising at the other man. “’cause you could save us both some time here if you just admit that I’m right.”

“ Now, you see, I could, but why would I admit your right? ” More to the point, he didn’t see why it was useful to admit the obvious, “You might be right, but i’m not wrong. ”

russkiyuragan:

“I’d venture to guess you have a couple days if you want to get a head start on preparing.  They don’t have your location….yet and they’re stupid enough to try and weaponize you.”  He smiled wryly.  “I’d know.”

his relationship with HYDRA was already complicated enough his family history. there was no doubt that due to this, things would already become far more strained. though, even ky’lar knew that running wouldn’t get him anywhere — not really at least,

❝ they could try, but they won’t get far.❞

.       it’s not an idea bobby is at ALL comfortable with. no, it’s actually one of his greatest fears, that he’ll lose control, and shut someone down in a big way. like…FOREVER. he’s not sure it’s something he can even do for ky’lar, and needless to say the idea sours in the pit of his stomach, ruining his usually lighthearted disposition. his lips purse, brow furrowing, and he stares intently at the ground for a long while before his gaze finally raises to meet ky’lar’s.

❝ okay. ❞ he doesn’t WANT to, hopes it doesn’t come to that, but he knows that if he can’t do it for some reason it won’t take long for the other x-men to get here. people who are more seasoned, more capable of controlling the situation.

❝ i promise. now let’s get that simulation going.

image

he wanted the promise due to the fact there was a REAL possibility that he would get out of control. if that happened, ky’lar wanted to know that bobby would take the NECESSARY steps to protect himself. if he couldn’t, there would be no clue what would happen, and he hoped that it wouldn’t get that far.

a nod was soon given. after-all, there was no going back once the simulation was started, and part of him knew this was a bad idea. he was angry, always was, and there was doubt that it would ever change. it was the one constant in his life, and most days…. he could just barely keep everything under control.

    “Let’s get started then.”

❝ yikes, how do you even LIVE like that? ❞ bobby’s always thought floridians and ANYONE who willing lived somewhere without winter are weird. c’mon, there’s nothing better than hot cocoa after spending hours in the snow making snow angels and a misshapen lump of a snowman ( unless you were bobby drake. HIS snowmen are always perfect! )

❝ your family sounds like a bunch of winners,

❞ he mutters. but he’s sympathetic to ky’lar’s story. life’s not easy when your powers are blooming and you don’t even know what they ARE, let alone how to control them.

❝ that sounds pretty awful. sorry, man. ❞

“My family, for whatever they were worth, were better than having nothing, but throw in a few parties, and it was half-way decent.” A lie, “Honestly, it was easier that way —- still the mistake. At least back then I didn’t have to worry about all of this, “ he gave a gesture to the area around the both of them, ” Reality.””
