′i’m guessing you just came to taunt me? yes, i’m recruiting new members.′blue orbs rolled, dry chuckles escaping smirked lips.′you are mistaken. in fact, you couldn’t be further from what the avengers do. yeah, we beat the bad guys. but our jobs is to save people. not only from alien threats and all of that, but from natural disasters as well. there’s also members who just help with simple stuff. like cleaning up parks and public areas. some who provide things for people in need, like food, water, even shelters. so no. we don’t just beat up bad people. and maybe if you’d be willing to change your ways, you wouldn’t be on that list.′
‘ so, you help a little to keep your image good, but then go after everyone you declare a, ’ he held up two fingers ‘ big bad. ’he couldn’t even help himself from the laughter at his own words. ‘ it’s almost poetic you know; wanting people to join your little band of heroes was it? ’ obviously he was taunting as he leaned his head back for a moment. ‘ i could change my ways; turn myself in right now even, but it won’t change the fact that i’d always be on that list. ’ well, maybe not always, but ky wasn’t going to change his ways – not unless there was some true benefit for him. so far? he didn’t really see one. ‘ someone with my… specific set of talents doesn’t get to be the hero. no, it’s always… the big bad villain, isn’t that right, captain? ’
′if you’ve ever wanted to be an avenger, now is your chance. i, captain america, will be conducting open interviews for a place on our ever growing team of heroes to save the day. please give your name, your age, what abilities you have and why you want to become an avenger.
′
‘ will you look at that – captain america trying to recruit for your little team. ‘ his arms crossed over his chest with a smirk. ‘ i almost want to say i’m impressed, but then again? whoever you recruit i’ll just have to try to kill – isn’t that what avengers do? fight one’s you deem villains? ’ a pause as ky glanced down for a few moments. ‘ or am i humbly mistaken? ’
Now, that was the question wasn’t it? Ky could have voiced quite a few answers as to why, but instead, he didn’t. No, he didn’t think it was necessary. Instead, he leaned his back against a wall, and smirked. “ You just can’t get enough of me. ”
THERE WAS NO NEED FOR A FORMAL GREETING. not when being decent was out of the equation. he spoke the obvious; maybe a bit harshly, but still it got the same point across. ky didn’t want Rogers anywhere near him – hero or otherwise.
“ Not going back. ” Saying more was advisable, but not necessarily worth an elaboration. Ky already knew Roger’s mind was set on getting him back where he ‘belonged’ one way or another. “ —– Don’t want to go back. “ not if he had a choice at least. “ You can’t make me. ”
“ I have never done charity – never will. I might sometimes… decide to help, but that?” He rolled his eyes. “Yeah, no – I don’t care about them, their lives, or anything about them. If I decide to… let’s say save a few lives? That’s done due to the fact it’s needed – once i’m done? It’s up for fate to have the last laugh.” A pause. “As I told you before… i’m not a hero. Nor will i ever be.”
“unfortunately for you, i don’t.” he could have gone on to say that – all – systems were corrupt, but he wasn’t about to waste his energy on something like that. no, all ky was going to do was state the obvious. then he’d move on from there. “the system will just make things ten times worse.” more so for ky’lar himself.
ky never did like guns. for one, they were far too clumsy, and for two? after being shot so many times they lost their appeal. sure, he carried one on him, but using it? that was a very rare occurrence ( even more so these days ). so, when he was told to pull the trigger? he hesitated. there was only a few outcomes that could happen if he did pull it, but on the side that the gun stopped working? well, he’d have to get into a physical fight, and he wasn’t in the mood for one. not truly at any-rate. “— yeah, no,” he said, “i don’t take orders well.”
❝ Look, I don’t want to fight you. But if you don’t come quietly, I’m gonna have to drag you in by force. Do yourself a favor && make this easier on the both of us.
❞
❝ or, i could make things much worse. ❞ a simple statement to the fact as his arms crossed his chest. going in easily was never part of his play book. he always had to be difficult these days. especially when he knew what would happen the moment he entered any building with guards equipped to actually handle him. he might not have been feeling up to a blood bath today, but it could always happen. ❝ your choice. ❞
“then you should get out of my way.” while his words were cool, his body language was the exact opposite. ky wasn’t in the mood to deal with anymore unexpected interference. a reason to why he decided to go with a more direct approach. “or you’ll find yourself six feet under.”
