‘You could never hurt me.’ :|

the admission almost made him burst out laughing. she thought he’d never hurt her? she was absolutely wrong!!! it wouldn’t take much – not even for ky to end her life. he could rip her apart without even thinking about it.

oh, it would be rich. tear her apart!!! piece by piece even. drag her soul down to hell too!!! it would be such a fitting end to her. he might even get some sort of commendation as well!! it would be so easy… so very easy.

however, even ky knew all actions would have a consequence. he might not have cared about ghosts, but if her father knew about what he’d done? well, he had no doubt he’d have to face him… one way or another.

still, he let a light grin spread across his lips as he moved to run his fingers under her chin. oh, he’d keep up this facade a bit longer. pretend to care a bit longer. then he would strike. that was what demons did.

       “and i won’t… i really won’t.”

“mm, i haven’t decided yet. i was thinking about putting it up to a vote, y’know – to keep up the appearances of democracy and all …” she paused, closing her eyes as she trailed off and leaned into his touch. “ – well, now i’d have to GET UP if you want a book, and that’d take effort, so …”

“effort you don’t have,” he mused, still running his hands through her hair – even making sure to scratch her scalp lightly. “i think you should stay where you are. that way you don’t have to move and you can keep me company.” among other things… it would keep him preoccupied and not out causing needless violence.

“i never asked for this.”

he could have said many things, but instead, he simply moved to run his right hand through her hair. truth be told, he didn’t either, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t make the most out of what he had. well, most days at least. “all i need you to do,” he said, voice lowering just to a whisper. “is let me take care of everything, liv. you point me in their direction and i’ll take them out.”

image

“no, i just —– i just want you to relax.” she almost laughs, lifting her head with a huff as she pushes her hair out of her face. leaning into her palm, she watches him absently for a moment, picking at one of her sheets as he heads for the closet. “you know how to do that, right? relax?”

image

“oh, i know how to do many things.” relaxing just wasn’t something he was able to do around anyone. maybe at one point in time, but now? well, the closest he could possibly get was sitting in a cold room all alone. though, he wasn’t going to admit that. “just depends on the situation,” he said, pulling out two blankets. “like why i should relax and why you think it’s needed.”

“ —- yeah, didn’t anyone tell you? attention-seeking comes with super hefty fines. i thought i put a notice on the door.” she laughs, just for a moment, dropping herself into his lap with a sigh. “you want me to get you a book?”

“– and just,” he paused for a moment, moving to run his hands through her hair as she made her way to his lap. “what exactly would these fines be? unless, you’d rather give me some sort of book… instead of your own entertainment.”

@hellfirebound

“ —- if you’re gonna hang around all night, would you at LEAST do me a favor and … I dunno, do some dusting? Or dig up a few extra blankets or something?”

he could do several things, but dusting? not a chance. a reason to why he opted for the extra blankets. among other things. “wan’t me to leave?” he asked, making his way towards a closet. “i could – wouldn’t be hard either. i hear there’s a nice place open this time of night.”

whcwashe:

“great. thanks for the heads up.” she bites her tongue before she can argue any further, shoving her amulet across the table with a huff. “y’know, even if it’s not ME that does it, someone’s gonna send you back eventually.” she couldn’t, regardless. not now. and it didn’t make sense to lobby threats she couldn’t fulfill. “i’m going to bed …”

image

“i would rather you send me back than anyone else” he didn’t want to be sent back at all, but if he had a choice? he would have rather had someone he trusted do it – not anyone else. “still, you should get some sleep, and i’ll just… raid the fridge.”

“Why do you always have to make everything feel like it’s some kind of hostage situation.” She frowns, heaving a sigh as she drops her amulet and pulls her head up to watch him. “It’s fine. You can stay, it’s not that serious.”

“have you ever thought that is because it is.” his arms crossed calmly behind his back. “i could simply… walk out the door, find a bunch of children, and ritually sacrifice them.” of course he wouldn’t, that was below even ky’s standards, but all the same, he still would have gone through with the thread if pushed in the right direction. “it would get some attention… plus i could use a few favors.”
