she SMILES when he concedes to helping her, her job as an angel is to help people so it always feels slightly strange to her to ask anyone else for help. adjusting herself slightly, virtue holds out her arm.
“i just need someone to lean on so i can hop over here to the shop, mostly because i don’t want to get my sock COVERED in puddle water.”
“are you really scared of a little water?”
he couldn’t blame her – not really at least, but he didn’t feel things like most others did. at least, in his mind; getting wet was the least of anyone’s worries. still, ky was going to play nice – even if every fiber of his being wanted him to leave right then and there.
“i’m gonna guess you were one who didn’t enjoy playing in the mud as a kid, huh?”
“look my SHOE has just fallen down that drain and there isn’t a lot of chance that i’m going to manage to get it out… so if you wouldn’t mind.. i could really use a hand, hopping over to that shop to buy a new pair.”
it’s raining and the little angel is soaked to the bone, light blue summer dress sticking to her body in the rain. hair in her face as she looks up expectantly.
it was just his LUCK that he ran into someone who needed HELP when he was trying keep himself AWAY from trouble. if this had been a usual day, ky would have rolled his eyes, walked on, and maybe even done a usual ‘don’t care and leave me alone speech’. still, he couldn’t bring himself to do it this time — maybe next he would later on when his mood changed drastically.
“uh-huh,” he muttered lightly as he held out his right hand towards her. “i’ll do what i can, but there’s nothing I can do about the weather.”
