FAKE SMILE DROPS almost instantly at the threat, and rather than show how intimidated he is ( which is only slightly, if he’s honest ) he gets angry. Yondu doesn’t take kindly to being threatened, whatever the situation, and he’ll be damned if he let anyone get to him. “Sorry, hoss, I ain’t inta’ tha’ kinda’ thing.” A beat. “Business — now tha’s got my attention.”
HE KNEW FULLY WELL that his threat wouldn’t be received well. Luckily for him, this was one of the few times his ASSUMPTIONS were wrong. Ky knew he was walking a fine line with this little RISK of his, but all the same… it was one he was WILLING to ultimately take. “Not many are,” a short pause. “However, if you’re interested, I may have something for you – REAL business.“ Even if he knew it would end up costing him a fortune… or two. “With very limited risk to yourself.”
FACE WRINKLES INTO MORE OF A SCOWL ! He’s already decided this guy is annoying. But, quick as a flash, he’s smiling, playing up his innocence as best he can. “Is tha’ so ?” He’s backing up as he speaks. “That’s real reassurin’ ta’ hear, boy. If y’ain’t got business shootin’ me, then I reckon I’ll jus’ be on my way —-”
“ACTUALLY,” he said, taking a step closer, “i was thinking of ripping you apart… piece by piece.” while his tone was quite serious ( at least for the moment ), as a grin quickly spread across his features. “it could be fun.” the only problem with that was it would mean far too much effort on his part and possibly causing. “or, we can talk about some real business with all threats off the table.”
“LET’S NOT GET CARRIED AWAY.” It’s beginning to dawn on Yondu that he’s mess with the wrong guy. “Don’t shoot th’ messenger, an’ all tha’.” Does that apply here ? He hopes so. It’s not like he decided on a WHIM to steal anything —- he’d been hired for it, and really, can he be blamed for simply doing his job ?
“SHOOT YOU?” he couldn’t help, but roll his eyes at the very notion of it. “no, if i wanted to do that, i’d have done it already.” actually he’d have attempted to rip the other in two. more or less. “and we WOULDN’T be having this truly DELIGHTFULconversation.” though, it was still possible they would be in the same position; just a slight different set of circumstances. “you can be sure about THAT.”
