His archaic choice in phrase was unintentional, merely a habit of being long-lived. He is quick to forget which terms have fallen out of fashion and what have instead moved into the lexicon of the modern day. In any case, his meaning was still understood, giving him no reasons to start changing his way of speaking any time soon.
“Ah, nowhere special.” Trying to dodge the question, he wanted to avoid saying the name of his homeland for as long as possible. Gone from existence, the blond had to remind himself more than once that Asgard was more than just a city of gold commanding pious devotion from its lessers. Hopefully under his watch it could be something far better.
“That’s…useful, I think?” Voice undermined by a noticeable pause, his face morphed into an expression that waxed confusion. The other was acting vague, for reasons that were currently unknown. At least he no longer feels guilty of responding in the same style. “Are you not of this place either? Merely a traveller, passing through?”
he wouldn’t exactly say he was passing through or a traveler. no, it was more that ky got bored of his usual routine, and decided to actually go out in the world. it was dangerous, yes, but at least he wasn’t hiding behind four walls, and a roof.
“more like someone who’s stuck in this place until something better comes along.” that was putting it lightly. “there are many places i could go, but something always keeps me centered here.” maybe he could find a way back to mephisto’s realm if he really wanted to. spend a few more years there until he got his head on straight. he just wasn’t willing to crawl back to his father nor grandfather anytime soon.
“the food is good at times. so is the beer.” though, he could drink that down in barrels if he wasn’t careful. the hangover and other effects were worth it though. it caused him to forget and half the time it was worth it. the other half… not so much.
