In trying to avoid the issue he didn’t want to be repeated, Ky lunges for the jugular. People had disintegrated when the universe convulsed, when a tyrant got his wish for less mouth breathers, crowding all known existence. Deaths that had no right to happen, had he delivered a killing stroke.

“I KNOW that!” Thor effectively leaps from his seat when accused, a terrible feeling of anger rising in his chest. It wasn’t meant for Thanos, nor the demonic male passing judgement. When it came time to scrutinise his actions, the bereaved king was his own worst critic. “Norns, I do…know that.”

Having risen from the chair in a fury, his rage fizzled and died as quickly as it materialised. Zapped of the will to fight, Thor buries his face in his hands, a yell of frustration tearing past his teeth as he sat back down. A child’s toy with its batteries wasted.

Finding it difficult to keep it together, especially in front of someone like Ky’lar, Thor lets an arm rest on the side of his chair, smoothing the palm of his other limb over his face before stopping at his jawline. The arm that was laid flat begins to tap a gentle rhythm with two fingers as Thor lets his gaze wander around the room, not speaking again for a long time.

Eventually, he’d say; “Why didn’t I finish the job.”

his words had been harsh for the very reason of getting thor to understand. no, he wasn’t doing this for spite, but rather to inform the other of the truth of the matter. when other’s found out, they would blame him – just as they would blame ky for his involvement as well.

ky was guiltly, just as much as his father, and grandfather for this. even more so due to the bloody deal that was struck. still, he respected it – even if deep down ky knew it would come back to haunt him eventually.

“you should have aimed for the head.” a comment he thought was spoken before. even so, ky doubted that it would help matters much, but it was something that had to be said. at least for the time being. “maybe then we wouldn’t have been in this mess.” and ky wouldn’t have been stuck for what felt like centuries in his grandfather’s realm. or maybe he still would have.

not that it mattered much now. he couldn’t change the deals that were struck and the blood ( or rather ash ) that was on his hands. it was too much… even for him to deal with. “so,” a grin slowly spread across his lips as his form started to shift – at least slightly. his eyes turned bright red as he took a step closer. “we’re going to finish the job or everyone left alive will personally know you failed to stop thanos.”
