She’s a bit uneasy, of course, fully knowing what he’s capable of. But, she’s attempting her best to think brighter, find optimism in his wickedness. “Fine. We can go out.” Babs consents. “But I think you should really seal the deal.”

of course she’d want him to seal their little deal. doing that, would ensure that ky actually kept his side of it, and he would. well, from a certain point of view, but that was semantics.

“fine,” he said, moving closer to place his lips on her own. not something he would usually do, but…if it meant gaining her trust? so be it.

She’s dead serious, and it shows as she waits for his response. He goes dark, his eyes seem black and cold. She holds her breath but not because she’s scared. She’s — captivated. His grin is almost too much, it causes her to smile in turn. But then she takes a few steps forward, once again attempting to meet his gaze. “Well I was going to take you out but maybe we should stay in?”

“Or,” he said, moving his right hand under her chin, “You can take me out an’ i’ll have a bit of fun.” Though, ‘fun’ to him usually meant some kind of violence. Usually the sort that was fatal for anyone involved. “I promise I won’t kill anyone… just for you.” He said it as truth, but even Ky knew deep down that it could quickly become a lie. Especially with his moods. “I promise.”

She leans in, meeting his tall gaze. Amused expression withers into something somewhat of a pensive state. She opens her lips to speak, thinks on it, then closes her lips before taking a step back. “Do you eat?”

Ky thought the question would have been something important. Like, if she wanted him to do something, or about what he liked to wear. At least those questions he would have gave an honest response to, but for this? Oh, he was going to have a slight amount of fun.

He leaned forward, licked his lips, and then spoke in a low tone; completely serious. “I could eat you.” As for what that meant… it was completely up for debate.

However, around ten to twenty seconds later, he couldn’t help the shit-eating grin that formed across his face as he was just about to burst out laughing. Though, he managed to contain himself. For the moment at least.

She raises her brows, partially amused but tries to keep her smile hidden before clearing her throat. With a bat of her long lashes she informs him “I didn’t even ask it.”

of course she didn’t, but he was trying to be nice. well, as best as he could possibly be at the moment. so what if he put on a little amusement of his own? at least he wasn’t harming anyone ( for the moment at least ). “what do you want then?”

“Hey, do I look like I work for free?” Feigning annoyance, he tried his best to sell the lie, hoping that Ky would buy it. If demons emerged in the human world, seeking to do harm, Dante would do his best to intervene, with or without the promise of a monetary reward.
It simply felt proper to do so.

“But since you’re just sittin’ there, why don’tcha make yourself useful and start closin’ those damn gates.” He paused for a moment, then, beginning to smirk. Waiting for the right moment to deliver the punchline. “Or else I’ll show you why I’ve earned my devil hunting reputation.”

“I don’t close gates,” Ky said, not even bothering to spare Dante a second’s glance. If he did now, it would have been more of a scowl or even glare – still, it wasn’t like he could do much. Even if he did… there was doubt it would actually turn out half-way decently.

“If you want them closed,” a pause as he sucked in a deep breath and let it out slowly. “you can do them yourself -you may have earned a reputation, but i’m not in the mood to make anyone down there more pissed off.” a least more than they were already. ”not today, dante. not today.”

He had to admit, that facade the demon had hid his emotions behind was good. Lucifer couldn’t help the soft, amused smile that tugged on his lips as he leaned forward, blue eyes narrowing as he listened to the other’s breaths. what are you so afraid of? He stretched his wings lazily, the tips of the ash-stained feathers glowing softly with his grace.

Fear was a constant; he could keep up that facade for a while, but not forever. Eventually, his own discomfort with the situation would start to slip through, but for now, he assumed that he’d been able to keep it up ( at least for a little while longer ). “Nothing,” A lie – one he shouldn’t have told, but it was far easier to admit than the truth.

Such nerve was reprehensible– worth a thunderous response had he been in the mood to summon forth a storm. Unluckily for Ky’lar, Thor wasn’t going to allow such petty talk cause his hands to take action, not like before. Time had passed and in its elapse came the weathering effects of change. It shaped each of them into something different, unrecognisable from before. And while the blond could acknowledge this, it appeared as though the demon was reluctant to accept it.
So he would simply have to demonstrate that all was not like it had been in the recent past

“Nay, I do not have to accept what is clearly untrue. Your words, like always, are rife with falsehoods. Though I do find myself…impressed by your stubbornness. It is seldom that I am pursued by one who means to best me at every opportunity to do so.”

image

“You’re a worth-while opponent.” Through all the lies he’d told over the years – that was the most truthful admission. Or, at least, as truthful as he could possibly get. Ky’lar thrived off their fights and the destruction that usually followed suit. When Thor was unworthy, it made things so much easier to get him riled up. So much more… amusing to see someone who was once a God like the state they were in.

Now, things were somewhat back to a new state of normal – something that the Son of Blackheart despised with every fiber of his being. He wanted a challenge – one that he couldn’t get elsewhere. Well, he could, but heading back home wasn’t something he wanted to do – not now and not ever. Not if he had a chance to do so. “One, not found very often on this side of things.”
