“I get told a lot of things, but I tend to tune things like that out.” The same as being told she was annoying. She’d stopped caring long ago how others viewed her, what they thought of her. What did that matter? Sif had realized that other people’s opinions of her had very little to do with her and a lot more to do with them.
“You’re avoiding the question.”
“— am i now?” it wouldn’t have been the first time he avoided questions being posed to him. nor would it truly be the last. avoidance wasn’t exactly an admission or confirmation of what he’d done. instead, it was simply a way to not directly answer. so, in his mind? it was the perfect way to answer something he didn’t exactly want to.
“if i decide to… let’s say, go on a rampage to wipe out a handful of people? well, i do believe that’s on me. not you, isn’t it?”
Jaw tenses as testament to his growing vexation, while his attention is focused warily on the artifact facing peril. Oh how his fingers itch to start conjuring up a gateway so that he might deposit the annoyance anywhere that isn’t near him. Asshole.“ Drop it, and your destination will depend on just how IMAGINATIVE I feel. A volcano? The sun? I might even book you a reservation in ANOTHER DIMENSION ENTIRELY seeing as your so keen to make the trip.”
“to be quite fair? i ENJOY the cold far more than anything else.” still, he wasn’t going to RISK being sent into a volcano or anywhere else- MAYBE another time, but for no? NOT A CHANCE. a reason to why he moved to place it on the table with a roll of his eyes. “ ‘sides, i’m NOT ready to book a one way trip to another REALITY – i have enough PROBLEMS in this one, s t r a n g e.”
“ If you don’t stop touching the mystical artifacts I will strand you on EVEREST.” Gaze is piercing, sharp, alight with the challenge to push him on the matter and see if he’s joking ( the sling-ring already adorned upon scarred fingers might heavily suggest that he is NOT. )
and in RETURN, ky moved to pick up one of the artifacts, and he acted like he would DROP it. why? mainly just to push the BOUNDARIES of how far he could possibly go in the situation. “what would you do if i… DROPPED one of these things? i hear EVEREST is quite nice this time of year.”
❛ could have, would have, but i didn’t see the point. ❜ or, rather, ky just didn’t see why he had to get involved. ❛ i thought you had everything handled. ❜
the admission almost made him burst out laughing. she thought he’d never hurt her? she was absolutely wrong!!! it wouldn’t take much – not even for ky to end her life. he could rip her apart without even thinking about it.
oh, it would be rich. tear her apart!!! piece by piece even. drag her soul down to hell too!!! it would be such a fitting end to her. he might even get some sort of commendation as well!! it would be so easy… so very easy.
however, even ky knew all actions would have a consequence. he might not have cared about ghosts, but if her father knew about what he’d done? well, he had no doubt he’d have to face him… one way or another.
still, he let a light grin spread across his lips as he moved to run his fingers under her chin. oh, he’d keep up this facade a bit longer. pretend to care a bit longer. then he would strike. that was what demons did.
“and i won’t… i really won’t.”
“mm, i haven’t decided yet. i was thinking about putting it up to a vote, y’know – to keep up the appearances of democracy and all …” she paused, closing her eyes as she trailed off and leaned into his touch. “ – well, now i’d have to GET UP if you want a book, and that’d take effort, so …”
“effort you don’t have,” he mused, still running his hands through her hair – even making sure to scratch her scalp lightly. “i think you should stay where you are. that way you don’t have to move and you can keep me company.” among other things… it would keep him preoccupied and not out causing needless violence.
he could have said many things, but instead, he simply moved to run his right hand through her hair. truth be told, he didn’t either, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t make the most out of what he had. well, most days at least. “all i need you to do,” he said, voice lowering just to a whisper. “is let me take care of everything, liv. you point me in their direction and i’ll take them out.”
