“ isn’t it a little early for creeps to be out? ” she questions almost immediately, unable to really hold herself back. jessica was the type of person who reacted on instinct and right now was no different. words slipped out faster than she could stop them and already she could herself regretting it. maybe antagonizing the creep wasn’t a very good idea. “ there something you need? ”
“ isn’t it a little early to be rude to your elders? ” honestly, he didn’t care about her attitude. in-fact, he could have replied with something deeply sarcastic – well, more than usual. the only problem was he wasn’t in the mood to waste that much energy. not now. “in my day,” he said, hands slipping into his pockets. “ we were at least somewhat decent. ” a faint smirk pulled at his lips. “ as for what i need? nothing much. just avoiding family. you? ”
“ if you touch them, i will kill you, ” that sharp edge in her voice brought out the bad witch underneath her softer exterior. let the craft be damned for she will certainly make it the worst encounter for ky’lar. slender, small digits curl into fists at her sides, sabrina was stepping up with a threat. a tightened jaw and shifted in sweet blues, she’s more anxious now that he’s around, “ what do you want? ”
“ stronger have tried. “ that was a fact he would stand by, but it was due to his family. with-out them, he wouldn’t be here, and as much as he hated them? well, he was alive due to them. so, he couldn’t be too disappointed about his situation. just mostly. “ as for what i want? ” he couldn’t help, but smirk. “ i need something. ” a pause. “ something very powerful.”
arms folded as spike leaned against a wall, watching the other attempt to do his task. before he could respond with a witty retort, he got his answer. he chuckles, shaking his head. “ not quite a stupid question after all, then, was it? “he’ll take the option of watching him struggle for his amusement, rather than helping.
while in reality it may not have been a stupid question… that didn’t mean that was how the demon saw it. did he know what he was doing? not really, but would he admit it? hell no. “depends on the point of view.”
‘or you could do me one better and teach me how to protect myself. then i’ll have a better chance if someone snatches me up to use me against sam.’ the possibility would never go away as far as she was concerned.
‘i could, but do you really think i would?’ more specifically, did she really think that it mattered? ky wasn’t going to spend hours trying to teach her something like that. no, he would do something better; a personal trainer, but one he could trust. ‘everything will come in time, jess. you just need to have patience.’
“cover ups don’t change who you are, no… but working to make the change does. everyone things they need to be so stagnant. just changing your perspective on things can do wonders. not all weaknesses can be turned into strengths but plenty of them can.”
“being mad at the world about what isn’t fair doesn’t change anything, but sometimes it’s therapeutic. but you can’t really be mad at the world for choices that you freely made. not justly.”
“i’m not a good person.” then again, most days he wouldn’t even consider himself a person. then again, there were days were all he wanted to do was drink himself into a grave. either way, whatever he was… he doubted that it would matter much. “nor do i wish to change. give me a drink… or sixteen and i’ll be fine.” a shrug. “usually.”
the usual excuses that was used in reference to why he avoided hell was that he was busy. however, anyone that truly familiar with him knew the truth; he wasn’t ready to face it. not again. not after the stunts he had pulled and most certainly when he knew that things wouldn’t get better the moment he was forced back.
still, it wasn’t like he could avoid it now, and even he knew that he had to face his mistakes – including failures sooner or later. he just wished he had more time to prepare something more than one words that he knew wouldn’t be taken well. a reason to why he decided the best way forward was to just go with it and hope… he came out of everything alive ( if his existence could even be called such a thing ).
“to be quite fair,” he said, arms crossing over his chest. “i don’t see it as really that bad. ‘sides i’ve been keeping my head down.” mostly.
