❝ I mean, I would have preferred you to be gone forever, but, we can’t all have what we want, now can we? ❞ Saccharine sweet and with entirely too much teeth, Felicia grinned up at Ky as she leaned into him. It was a job she needed him for, no matter how much she hated it.
❝ Now, just keep that little smile on your face and look at me like I put the stars in the sky. I’ll have those jewels in no time. ❞
❝ No, we can’t always have what we truly want, can we?❞ No matter how hard he tried in all reality. ❝ Now, if you’re wanting me to smile… more and especially play my part.. ❞ He trailed off for several moments as his attention shifted from the ground back to her. ❝ You’re going to have to let me have a little fun after this is over. ❞
“he isn’t going to care about your little problems. he doesn’t care about anything except the detective that he can’t stop drooling over.” a roll of her eyes as she realized she probably shouldn’t have shared that information. but like always, she would be by his side to save the day if it came down to that. “believe me. he is not the lucifer that you assume him to be anymore.”
“then perhaps a change is in order, isn’t it?” if lucifer wasn’t going to do his job, then it seemed the only logical thing to do was to put someone else there. maybe then, ky could get what he needed done, but there was doubt it ever would happen. ky had been there before; chasing after some human girl because of one reason or another. at least jess was someone he could trust and didn’t cause him to neglect his duties. the way he saw it, this… detective lucifer was lusting after was the direct opposite of it. disgusting. “i’m sure you could agree.”
“ Ah, so the good, old-fashioned trickery… classic. “ But, the creature inside fell silent for a moment after that, contemplating whether or not she should speak the words on her mind, now. The last thing she wanted was to piss him off, again. “ You do know…?“ A pause, then. “ Listen, it’s not hard to see you have an attachment to this kid. So, I think its fair to warn you, she’s going to have a HELL of a time forgiving you after something like that. ‘Cause, yeah, pretty sure she’s gonna be pissed. “
“I believe that whatever comes of this isn’t your problem or have you forgotten who you’re speaking with?” Even if she didn’t, Ky was not above pushing is status into the equation. As much as he openly sated his status in hell was just for show…. he’d use it whenever it was needed to keep the ‘lessers’ in line. “Do your job an’ i’ll do mine, got it?”
even though this is going to kill me uhh have a fresh starter call
“Or maybe, you just don’t like that i am his son.” Honestly, that was a low blow – even for Ky, but deep down? He just didn’t care. “I may be many things, but do remember that there is even a limit to how much I can handle.”
“Yes, actually, I was.” Not that it mattered to Ky. One person vs his own comfortableness was a small price to pay. He could have done something – maybe even offered a hand, but why do that? It’s not like he cared. “Is that a problem?”
“When it suits me to listen, yeah, I do.” There was no hesitation in his answer, parting with it as easily as breathing. The spirit that granted him supernatural power in exchange for planting a ceaseless need to track down the guilty and devour their sins was a potent force to be reckoned with, but Blaze had gained mastery of it, as well as a resilience to its tempting ways some time ago.
The piece of metal is tossed aside, its purpose spent. They needed to track down the escapee, preferably before their true nature was revealed– granted they were a demon and not something far worse than that. Given Johnny’s luck, though, he is convinced that this incident was about to get far more complex.
“Never had prey that ran off on me like that, either.” That flame engulfed head turns to Ky, suddenly inquisitive. Could this be more proof he needed to send the bastard down below? Who knows.
“Does that happen to ya often?”
Any other time and Ky would have rolled his eyes and gave a quite rude comment towards Blaze. That would have been the easy thing to do should they not have been in this situation.
A situation that was getting worse by the moment. It was only amplified due to the fact that Ky was getting agitated – more than he already was – the presence of the Rider always unnerved him and it cased more than just unease. Ky didn’t notice, but his arm was slowly shifting… revealing his true form.
“No.” A simple answer, but it was clear – just by the tone of his voice- that he was angry. Well, far more than he was a moment ago. There was only a limited number of people who knew the exact nature of Ky’s existence – that number went up by one- and while he didn’t think it was a big deal. Nor did he want to investigate the matter… he knew that their problems were just starting.
“We’ll find them and then F͟Ǫ̸̴R̶C̨̨E͞ ̧̕͝th̶̡͠e̷ a͘͟͠n͠͡s҉ẁ͞͏e̷̛͢r̨ś͠ ̨͠ou͘t.”
Chas isn’t necessarily fearing for his life; he’s been targeted for a number of things in his day ( and thanks to a special kind of bastard, he finds himself in more shite than he’d like to ) but where there should be concern for the reason he’s being followed, his anger is quickly taking the lead. He can’t head home on the chance that he’ll endanger his family, so he’s trudged along six blocks in the wrong direction until he finally slows to a stop, turning.
“—Ye got a fuckin’ problem, mate?”
“Besides the fact I’ve followed you for…”he actually had to remember how many blocks it was. “More than five – maybe ten or so.” Ky didn’t really care about how long it was, but he also couldn’t resist poking Chas about it. “I would have thought you’d caught on before the second block.” Or maybe that was his own vanity talking.
“But to answer your question? No, I don’t have a problem, but that could change.”
HOW THE BOYS FROM THE FRAT HOUSE CONVINCED THIS GUY to let them use his house to throw a keg party was beyond her. The place was decked out, way above the usual basement or empty garage that these so-called epic house parties ended up in. She was only here to keep an eye on her room mate – parties weren’t really her thing after all.
She spotted a guy sat on a sofa, a little older than the rest of them and a damn sight better dressed, too. It didn’t take a genius to figure out this was the mysterious hero who had leant the Alpha Sigma Phi lads his house. Parties weren’t really her thing, but she still had manners.
“Hey,” she said, offering him a drink – rum and coke, she was pretty sure, although she hadn’t exactly tripled checked the bottle before he poured it. “This your place?” @hellfirebound

IT WASN’T THAT HARD TO CONVINCE HIM. With his ‘Grandparents’ on a business trip to… who knows where, Ky gave the boy’s a deal – they could use the house as they saw fit. Just as long as they didn’t go in the basement and were out before three am. It was a simple deal and it gave Ky the ‘time around others’ his Grandparents thought he lacked.
So, he figured as long as he was left alone, he could watch them all, and make sure no one died. It was the last thing he needed – cops snooping around the bedrooms. Even Ky didn’t know what shit was in the mansion, but he did know that the more ‘taboo’ or, ‘dangerous’ stuff was in the lower levels. A reason to why he declared them off limits and he saw no reason to why anyone would go down there anyways (or so he hoped).
“More or less,” he said, running his left hand through his hair, and taking the drink with his right. “The good thing about my family is they leave for months at a time and leave me in charge.” Not that he minded – it was better than some of the Horror stories he’d heard about from the kid’s here about their ‘home life’. So, he couldn’t really complain.
“Not into these…” he gave a gesture with the drink of the house, “Parties or are you here offer Ky’lar Richardson your thanks for this venue?”
His expression shifts, a look of mild disgust at the fact the other man gave him. “You don’t have to eat? What are you?” It’s a rather rude question, but at the point Peter doesn’t care anymore. His mind is focused on only two things now, and with his added sense he doesn’t feel much of a threat coming from the man. It doesn’t mean he isn’t worried about what can be done, it just means he isn’t fearing for his life.
There’s still a lingering sense of danger, but nothing that hits his chest hard enough as a warning. “You say proper questions, like I haven’t been asking you what it is that you want me to take… Sir.” Peter grins cheekily at that, amusement rolling through him. “I’m less likely to fight if you tell me what’s going on.”
Ky didn’t have time for these foolish games. Stating the – almost to – obvious was not going to get him anywhere. Nor did he feel the need to admit that he absolutely needed assistance from the Spider.
No, instead, Ky went with what he knew; violence and threats. It was an assured way to either get what he wanted or… at least prove that he had the ability to do so himself. Either way, he didn’t feel like explaining (what he thought) as the obvious.
“There is a proper term,” he said, sucking in a deep breath, and then letting it out slowly, “for what I am, but i doubt your little mind would understand it.” In truth, not even Ky understood exactly what he was at times, but… he doubted admitting such things would ever really help his case. Not here and certainly not now.
“More importantly, you haven’t proved to me you’re… worthy to know exactly what’s going, but that could change.” His lips pursed into a thin-line as he thought for a moment. “If you were faced with… enemies on all sides what would you do? More so, imagine these… people who want you dead are your own family members.” He then gestured towards peter. “You see, what I want – what i need you for – will help me get on an even playing field.”
