what gave you the impression that i thought you were a good man?   zatanna lightly questions as she’s got her attention on a bigger project.

“ most seem to assume that right away. ” of course, he could have gone into a debate if they were right or not, but he honestly wasn’t in the mood for that. well, not now at any-rate, “ must be the looks. ”

her voice was like a purr,     meant to lure and coax the other into a sense of serenity            when,     really,     it was the calm before the storm.                  have i ever given you a reason to not trust me?                  brows knit together as though the demon was genuinely searching for an answer.        she feigned the innocence,     and knew that she could play the role as his right hand if needed if it meant that her neck would be safe.

he wanted to deny the truth,        to simply state that he wouldn’t out of pure spite,     but instead,         ky’lar did the much harder version of the choices he had before him.         the demon sucked up his pride and said,         ‘    no.       ’ it was all that he could say for the time being,          but for now,     it would have to be enough.

at his last words,     a perfectly arched brow raised in curiosity but also in partial disbelief.      red brims pursed into a smile,     and a foot clad in an equally red color pivoted.                    you?      have an offer for me?        i do have expensive tastes,     i sure hope you know that.                   her voice was soft,     the same kind that her legend preceded her        she could send seamen to their deaths.                  i’m listening.

image

he could handle expensive tastes.         had been able to since he was a young child.       however,           she didn’t need to know that,         and he wouldn’t bring it up.         for now,          as long as she listened,       that would prove useful, ‘   i’m sure expensive tastes isn’t the only thing you’re interested in.    ‘     he mused out lowly,   ‘      i was hoping you’d be interested in having an all you can eat feast.        ’

“i stopped wondering after i went figurative soul-searching with abby. but the last i heard, he got his ass dropkicked into another dimension.”

of course, lately, all she’s ever really been was exhausted in her attempts at making herself happy again ( if at all possible ), but he didn’t need to know that, it wasn’t any of his business anymore. she wasn’t even trying to be rude in the beginning, she was just surprised that he was actually stopping by after who even knew how long anymore.

“—-s’not a problem. i just don’t know what we even have to talk about anymore. i don’t deal with the supernatural anymore as it is, so– fire away, i guess.”

“I’ll find a way to get him back.” He wanted to say more on the subject, but he couldn’t. If Ky had a choice, he would have been right in that other dimension with Lucifer, but fate was cruel this time around. He wasn’t able to save the one person he cared about.

Not that it mattered much. Ky knew that eventually…. everything would come to an end. If it wasn’t right then, it would be later on, and there would be no way to stop it. That much he knew.

“You might not be a hunter, but I still…” He was going to say care, but instead, he thought better of himself, “I still thought I should drop by. For old time sake at least.”

it was too early in the session for jax to believe that the demon would pipe up anything about their own boss.        their own god.        jax knew this like the back of his hand,     but he felt as if he was being a good man       earning some humanity points back  –  by using breaks to pop the question.        tell me where he is.        ready to drop the dice on luci?      give me locations.

and yet,     at the answer,     a muscle in jax’s jaw clenched and he exhaled a rather annoyed sigh through his nose.      his knuckles didn’t ache yet,     thanks to the tolerance build up from past experiences with demons.                  alright.                  standing up straight,     the ex army man curled his fingers to his palms and threw it against the demon’s jawline.

if he had been in a better mood,          there was a high chance that ky’lar would have gave the other some more insightful information.         maybe some false locations if he actually did feel the need to,      but all the same,      ky’lar   didn’t want to give the man the benefit of the doubt.

at the impact of the other’s fist towards his jaw,      the demon let out a low growl.     it hurt,      yes,       but not as bad as what he had personally been through before. spiting some blood out of his mouth,     ky’s head tilted towards the other for a few moments,    ‘ is that all ya got?    i didn’t feel a thing.’

image

she had to know.       there were many days that ky had dreamed that this would happen.       that they could fully be together,     but reality was different.        reality stated that it wouldn’t happen.         all he could hope for was keeping her safe and that meant keeping his distance.

even as her lips stayed pressed firmly against his own         , he knew there was a choice that had to be made,          and it was one he dreaded.       it couldn’t amount to anything between them.   doing so would put the both of them in danger.   yet,   there was no harm in letting this play out.

a reason to why his lips stayed near her own.  for now,   he was going to  let himself enjoy this moment,   and worry about the rest at a later time.  after-all,  what she didn’t know couldn’t hurt her.

vacinla:

That is true. Most of the juicy souls the demons were craving for have already been eaten…The trillions of souls that had escaped are still being hunted but the big named SINNERS, the ones who caused genocides and wars or used religion for their own gain, were the first to be sought out for the ripeness of their souls. Lucifer knew that they should be suffering for all eternity but since he wasn’t the king of hell he could care less. Reaching for a glass as a waitress passed by he spoke, ❝If you honestly here for a story how about we get you a drink? One that actually has an effect on you’re kind.it did affect him slightly as well, but he wasn’t going to mention that.

Gulping the drink in one go he placed the glass down on the counter as he stood up. With a wave of a hand to get him to follow he continued, ❝The second floor is exciting for people such as us. There is a rule though, no making deals with humans in this establishment without my permission… the last demon that tried ended up as Maze’s pet before she got bored. Got it, little demon? Was Lucifer going to bother asking for the demon’s name? Probably not, unless he proved to be an amusing guest.

A nod was given as he followed the other; keeping his silence was easier than asking too many questions. That way, he wouldn’t have to deal with the answers. Well, most of them at any-rate, but at the same time, it lead to quite a few problems that more than likely would come back to bite him in the future.

Deal making wasn’t always on his mind nor was making connections with other’s of his kind. All that truly mattered was what he personally gained and rarely he got anything out of deals. Especially, when he knew that it was easier to simply not make them.

Not that it mattered too much. Ky’lar wasn’t about to become a pet. Not when he could avoid it by simply following the rules. So, for now, it was in his best interests to do as instructed, “Got it.”

sncrlisms:

upper lip twitched in a restrained snarl, fingers curling into fists. every instinct within the ‘wolf shied away from the image of a muzzle and leash, and it was difficult to fight when body wanted to curl in on itself. but eli was nothing if not proud, and he refused to bow beneath ky’lar. “no amount of threats will make me respect you.”

image

“i wouldn’t exactly call them threats.” they were, in essence more akin to promises than actual threats. yet, they could be taken the same way, even more so when the demon was angered, “if i decide to muzzle you, it’s for good reason, and eventually… you’ll learn your place.”

queenruled:

Margo is satisfied, relieved honestly when the demon eventually chooses to cooperate. It’s not that she doesn’t like their ragtag team  ( well, she likes at least some of them… )  but to trust them to kill the Beast? That’s a whole different story entirelly. Like, they’ve died how many times trying to do that already? Thirty nine, forty times if the whole time loop thing is really true. It’s time Margo added a plot twist into the story.  It’s a deal, she nods before getting down to the nitty-gritty.  Have you ever read Christopher Plover’s Fillory and Further series? It’s like R-rated Harry Potter. Those books are pretty much about this place; Plover came here after the Chatwins did. The one you need to kill is Martin, the youngest Chatwin brother. Custom-made suit, six fingers on each hand, moths obscuring his face most of the time — I’m pretty sure you’ll recognise him when you see him.

“Never heard of it.” It was truthful in a way, but even if he did hear of it, part of him knew he never read it. So, he was, in truth, scratching in the dark, and quite honestly, that was the way he enjoyed it. Having too much information could prove useful, but also dangerous. “So, you just want me to take out this so called ‘moth man?’”

Ky’lar doubted that it would be that easy, but he was hoping that it would be. That way, he could go back to relaxing, and not caring about the rest of creation. Of course, it wouldn’t last long either way —- just long enough for him to get relaxed before he was ‘called’ to do something, “Sounds fun.”
