❝ can’t remember because you’re older than dirt? though it wouldn’t surprise me the way the world is now that some people slipped through without souls… how it always was i suppose. since god and his winged introvert soldiers actually exist. ❞ he was still in awe from how non-hidden the angels had become and how so many people ignored it and wrote it off. keeping themselves in the dark about the presence of monsters.

“Can’t remember ‘cause I was born like this.” Or, if he could remember, he personally chose not to do so. His own memory was shattered, his first trip to hell had been willingly, but one that had marked him for the rest of his existence. He wasn’t ready, he wasn’t even prepared to deal with the after-effects it, but he knew now that it wasn’t worth it, “Either way, It doesn’t matter much too much. Soul or otherwise… it doesn’t change the state of things.”

❝Trust me, fire doesn’t bother me, in the least.  And what’s supposed to make you a ‘big deal’?❞

❝ Doesn’t it now? ❞ A faint chuckle escaped his lips, ❝ An’ I thought someone like you would be terrified of a slight amount of heat. ❞ He was being deeply sarcastic, but that was besides the point, ❝ ‘Course, i’ve been wrong before, an’ you’ll have to wait an’ see. ❞

At his question, Jo’s eyes shifted towards the ground. She was unable to look at him as she rolled his question over in her mind. She often found herself struggling to face herself in the mirror but she merely told herself it was because she felt as if she failed. As if she failed every single person she hadn’t been able to save. Jo swallowed hard as her eyes finally met his.

“Why are you doing this?” She asked in return not ready to answer his question yet. “Why does it matter?”

It didn’t matter. It never mattered to anyone. It was the prime reason that Ky’lar despised everyone else. They were all too fed up with their own problems to worry about a rich kid with anger issues.

It was to that very reason that he caused his eyes to roll at her words. It had been the same thing he heard several times over, “It doesn’t matter. That’s the point isn’t it? Human, Demon, or whatever else in-between. It always never matters. Not to many at any-rate…. they just don’t seem to care.”

❝ yeah i guess a few parties makes anything bearable. ❞ his words are mostly sarcastic, but if there was some comfort ky’lar derived from it, it’s something. you gotta find whatever gets you through. ❝ reality sucks. i mean, i guess i don’t have it so bad, but the thought of being a mutant is a lot different from actually BEING a mutant. people are awful.  ❞

❝ true, but there wasn’t really a choice in anything back then. if i kept to myself and out of trouble, they didn’t care what i did. ❞ more to the point, it let ky get away with worse than simply a few ‘accidental’ fires, but that was besides the point, ❝ well, usually, but maybe it would have been better to know. at least it would have been easier to deal with when it call came crashing down around me.” ❞

“ Why’s that?” Curiosity flooded the second eldest blue eyes met the ones belonging to the others. Lucifer personally could understand not getting along with angels a lot of them were difficult to talk to, frustrating like Michael and more– but his reasoning interested him.

“Well, half of them are self righteous pricks, and the other’s smite whoever comes with-in a ten mile radios of them.” Ky could have gone on, but instead, he chose to easier route, and that was to keep things as short as possible, “So, they are either stuck up themselves or killing whoever gets near them. ‘Course, sometimes they just love to show up, an’ ruin everything.”
