“Why didn’t you do the fucking side of my car!” She yelled. It was a rare sight for the huntress to be this angry. Maybe it was because she desperately loved that car she had built along side her father. Well, that and that she didn’t like it when people messed with her belongings.

“Or better yet, anywhere else except MY TRUCK!”

there were several reasons to why he used her window; it was easier to break and it wouldn’t last for long. of course, he wouldn’t actually admit that — not to her, and not ever, ❝ —— do you really want to know the answer to that?❞ he didn’t think so, but he still asked all the same.

“Hey, acceptance is the first step, at least. Can commend you for that.”

Dee managed a smirk before quirking a brow at Ky’lar, exhaling softly before continuing. “What brought this on, though? Are you coming to some sort of self-realization? Or was someone putting you up to it? I mean…even now I’m still not completely aware of everything that you’ve done.”

he couldn’t call it realization: ky already knew for a long while what he was capable of and what he was willing to do to get what he desired. of course, it was much easier to deny what he was —- to insist he was different and yet… stating the almost too obvious was a way that helped him gain clarity.
even if it was the wrong sort.

❝ boredom. ❞ a lie, but it was the only way he could possibly explain it — least of all to her,

❝ though, go back a few years, and i would have told you it was impossible. how i never could be bored, but…. i’m not like my father. i don’t burn towns down when i get upset. ❞ he paused for a few moments,

❝ i do much… worse than that. ❞

they  go through  this so  often  that he  already  knew what came
next. if he talks back his  insolence would be  punished by chains
being put back  on him then he’s  reduced to  being nothing more
than a possession again. he’s tired of it. he’s too tired to voice an
objection or comment on the praise that never failed to get on his
nerves. he’s done his duty and all he wants now is to be left alone.
not to read. he didn’t think  he could get his  mind to focus enough
to read. he’d settle for  silence and it’s broken by Ky speaking. the
grip he has on Caleb’s chin forces him to look back at him instead
of ignore him. temper flares and his jaw tenses, fighting the urge to
remove himself  from Ky’s hold. ❝how  am I supposed to forget with
you constantly reminding me?

❝—– you won’t.❞ his nails moved to dig into the other’s flesh for a
few moments: just enough to firmly make another point as his free
hand moved to pat caleb’s head,

❝ ‘cause, i’m quite sure that the
more you obey, the less you’ll be in chains, but the less you obey?
well, i have a feeling…you’ll learn your place soon enough, caleb.
it’s under me. ❞

❝ if tormenting me is your only hobby then you need
better options, that’s all I’m saying. I mean you’re pouring
all this energy into breaking me and that’s just kind of sad
because you  won’t  be able to. all that  effort for nothing?
may as well send me  to Hell now and find some new toy
  to play with. ❞

image

while he had more options, they took far more motivation, and time
than he was willing to put forward. if he got a new toy, it would mean
breaking the other in, and he wasn’t about ready to get rid of caleb.
maybe in a few more weeks, but not now,

❝ i could, but as i’ve
said before, you’re being kept until i no longer have use for you,
caleb. do remember that. ❞

thegingerwhcre:

“If that’s all you want, may as well let me out of these wretched things now.” Hard light in her eyes despite the way her lips c u r l e d back into a grin, revealing her bloodied teeth. The witch could practically taste the wine she’d sip for her V I C T O R Y. If his, or someone else important, was burning out their vessel, she might be able to manipulate them some before slipping away. “I don’t just have one way, but several..”

❝ —— an’ how do i know you won’t simply make matters WORSE? ❞ he didn’t trust witches, not most of them at any-rate, and even when working with them was crucial to survival, the demon kept them at arms length. it wasn’t due to spite or even hatred, but rather, survival was the key reason it was for, and nothing else,

❝ your kind ALWAYS  has something up their sleeve. ❞ though, if it was a good or bad thing was fully up for debate.

❝ yikes, how do you even LIVE like that? ❞ bobby’s always thought floridians and ANYONE who willing lived somewhere without winter are weird. c’mon, there’s nothing better than hot cocoa after spending hours in the snow making snow angels and a misshapen lump of a snowman ( unless you were bobby drake. HIS snowmen are always perfect! )

❝ your family sounds like a bunch of winners,

❞ he mutters. but he’s sympathetic to ky’lar’s story. life’s not easy when your powers are blooming and you don’t even know what they ARE, let alone how to control them.

❝ that sounds pretty awful. sorry, man. ❞

“My family, for whatever they were worth, were better than having nothing, but throw in a few parties, and it was half-way decent.” A lie, “Honestly, it was easier that way —- still the mistake. At least back then I didn’t have to worry about all of this, “ he gave a gesture to the area around the both of them, ” Reality.””

he could argue with that but what’s the point? all that ever matters is what Ky’lar wanted so what he thinks shouldn’t be all that different. he’s a little annoyed about how sure he sounds though, as if he’s really that easy to break. you’d think with how rebellious he’s been that Ky would know better by now. ❝debatable —- I’ve already been there before that how I go back doesn’t really matter.❞

❝ doesn’t it? going back willingly and by force are two different things, caleb. ❞ he pointed out bluntly,

❝ we all go back there eventually. if not now, one day, i’m sure i’ll be forced back, but you want the know the funny part? it’s that i would send you there a thousand times just for my own amusement.❞

❛ things typically have common sense enough to stay away from here, considering the clientele. ❜

ash stated simply. he never spent too much time worrying about things snooping around here too much, apart from their routine inspections.

❛ i’m sure it gets rough at times not being able to have a steady place… but i’ve always considered myself a bit of a wandering soul myself. ❜

❛ usually my steady places are storage containers. sometimes they hold out but other times they don’t. just never thought about a simple place to stay —- had one once, but after the fire, it was just too much work. ❜ though, the reality was ky’lar just didn’t want to stay in one place for too long. after a week, he needed to leave, and if he stayed a month in an area, it was either for a reason or he liked it there. all the same he always had to run to keep himself alive.

❛ monsters dying as casualties of this war or because they don’t have their food source anymore? think too many people are going to find out about the monsters? that would prove more catastrophic than the salem witch trials, but it seems the angels really don’t give a damn how conspicuous they’re being these days. ❜

❛ it could be a bit of both, but demon’s will always live on — they don’t even need true bodies. ❜ then again, it didn’t quite matter — not to him at least,

❛ to know what monsters exist would be opening a pandora’s box and who knows if it would ever be shut again. ❜ there was a shrug,

❛ angels don’t care and neither do demons. i, on the other hand, only care when it’s needed. ❜

“I’m human.” The words were blurted out as fast as possible – Im had no time to doubt their veracity, her legs aching with the need to run. “I’m human.” Wetting her lips, she tried to slow down her breaths, lungs burning as adrenaline seared through her system. “That means I’m valuable. I can get you out of here.”

image

“—- An’ i’m a demon.” His lips formed into a thin-line as he made his way froward, “You’re as valuable as your meat suit an’ I highly doubt you could get me out of this shit hole.” if she could actually hold up to her words, she would be very valuable, but at the same time, Ky’lar wasn’t going to put everything on the line for a human girl.
