“without mary’s death, my boys wouldn’t be in hunting. none of the people they saved would be alive. none of the people that got killed in consequence would be dead… sam’s girlfriend… if she hadn’t died, he wouldn’t be back in hunting like he is. so don’t sit there and tell me that it doesn’t change things. because that’s a load of bullshit.”

“small actions then,” he said, arms folding across his chest. “that is what changes things and you’re right. maybe they wouldn’t be into hunting, but how are you that sure? what if they had lived and then… they got into it some way or another?  what if sam’s girlfriend still died? everything would still come to pass – a bit slower, sure, but it would still happen.”

“a bit of a whiny brat if you ask me. he may have started all of this, but things got better when he wasn’t in charge… and now, we have the room to make it the best it has ever been.” the demon nearly beamed at the praise, appreciative that someone finally saw his talents for something more than errand boy. “tell me a little bit about your plans for hell. for our people, present and future.”

“just because someone starts something… doesn’t mean they have the capability to finish it.” he could have said much about lucifer and the other’s who tried to bring hell to something worthwhile. all of them had failed. ky’lar was going to make sure he didn’t. “first things would be first – setting it back to how things were before those winchester boy’s got involved.” of course, ky  would never call demons his own kind – not even close -, but he  knew demons were useful. not to mention they could be made for  quite specific tasks; why not remake things into something better? sure, he’d be taking several steps back in terms of management and functions, but it would be a step forward into getting back under the radar of hunters. that was key in his plans. “from there? well… i’m quite sure we’ll all be headed into a bright future.”

“you sure you can handle it, ky’lar? word on the street is that you’re wrapped around a little blondie’s finger too.” though she knew he hadn’t turned his back on who he was like lucifer had. there had been a time that lucifer enjoyed his position in hell… otherwise he wouldn’t have taken so long to leave. part of her enjoyed her time here on earth, but she knew it was making her weak. helping someone else take over hell would mean she could take back her old position, perhaps move further up in the chain.

“whatever is between me and that human doesn’t affect my performance.” if he had a way to prove it, he’d do so right away, but keeping jess out of the equation was his top priority. she was simply a phase – something he’d grow out of (one way or another). “i want hell and with our dear lord lucifer gone? well, it seems someone needs to grab what’s empty.” it didn’t matter  who was on the throne, ky  just wanted -more- power of his own. “don’t they?”

“you’re mental if getting arrested is a goal of yours… or your’e just an example of how fucked up our prison system is.”

“i highly doubt a cell could hold me for long.” not to mention that money opened doors, but that was besides the point. “but i’ve been wrong before – several times in-fact.”

“torture is not who i am and it never would be. you shouldn’t make it out to be some glorious thing when it is not. you just don’t have the mind to process how wrong it is. which… isn’t your fault, but…” talking about it all was enough to bring up those images he was trying to push down in the first place. “i feel like i can’t even attempt to be normal… but i don’t want to deal with any… monsters.”

“normal is overrated.” maybe not entirely, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t simply state it. “you have to deal with everything you know; past, present, and future. deny it all you wish, but when the time  comes… you’ll be begging me to put a blade in your hands.” a pause. “or maybe… the blade will be  mine.”

“we got enough being made without them being born. what’s being a halfbreed mean for your mortality?”

“well, as  the saying goes? morals are for… mortals.” he then gave a shrug. “think of it as one foot in hell and the rest just follows suit one way or another.”
