‘ many are, but that hasn’t stopped me.’

if he folded every time something became too hard there would
be no sport in it. no, this was done mainly out of spite, and not
to test his own abilities ( though that was debatable ). then again,
even ky knew this wouldn’t last forever, but… it was still fun to see
how far he could go. especially with something like this.

             nor will it.

“i’m doing the best i can.” well, given the limited resources at his disposal… he thought he was. then again, he had gotten everything he ever wanted, and that even included the deaths of hundreds. though, in reality, he was just out of control, and still a child – even if he would never admit it. “unfortunately, not everyone is perfect, or has a perfect little bubble like family!”

Earth had changed a lot in the past thirty years since Peter had been been abducted by Yondu and his ravagers. It was one of the many reasons he had kept himself from returning there, knowing it would not be like the place he had left behind. The main reason though; had been because Earth only served as a reminder of what he had lost. Which was only made worse, now that he knew his father had been the cause of his mothers death.

Luckily; he didn’t plan to stay for long. He and his team where there to obtain an object and once they retrieved it they would be gone. He wasn’t exactly sure where the Guardians next destination would be, but it would be better than here that was for sure. Eying the necklace on the unconscious mans neck, Quill reached forward to grab it only to be stopped as footsteps could be heard coming up from behind him.

Instinctively, he went to reach for his blaster that was tucked beneath his jacket but quickly dropped his hand back to his side. This didn’t have to turn into a fight. It would actually be better if it didn’t. Guns going off would no doubt wake the man from his sleep and this might be the only chance he had to retrieve the necklace. Peter turned around to look at the person behind him. “He’s still breathing. Just too drunk I think.”

“well, i’m quite sure that could be fixed.” simple words, but one’s that put into perspective what ky would do if he got close enough to man. life didn’t really matter to him most days – if the guy was on the ground, he more than likely pissed someone off… or was drunk. either way? he didn’t care. not truly at any-rate.

even so, his arms slipped behind his back, and hands slid into his pockets. there was no use in causing more of a scene then their needed to be, but even so… ky never could avoid a good show. “if you apply enough pressure everything stops breathing one way or another.” a risk, but one he was willing to take in all reality.

“think of it more as… advancing upon someone’s destiny than actually killing them.” shortly after his words, he gave a shrug. “fair is fair when they are out like this, don’t you think?”

In trying to avoid the issue he didn’t want to be repeated, Ky lunges for the jugular. People had disintegrated when the universe convulsed, when a tyrant got his wish for less mouth breathers, crowding all known existence. Deaths that had no right to happen, had he delivered a killing stroke.

“I KNOW that!” Thor effectively leaps from his seat when accused, a terrible feeling of anger rising in his chest. It wasn’t meant for Thanos, nor the demonic male passing judgement. When it came time to scrutinise his actions, the bereaved king was his own worst critic. “Norns, I do…know that.”

Having risen from the chair in a fury, his rage fizzled and died as quickly as it materialised. Zapped of the will to fight, Thor buries his face in his hands, a yell of frustration tearing past his teeth as he sat back down. A child’s toy with its batteries wasted.

Finding it difficult to keep it together, especially in front of someone like Ky’lar, Thor lets an arm rest on the side of his chair, smoothing the palm of his other limb over his face before stopping at his jawline. The arm that was laid flat begins to tap a gentle rhythm with two fingers as Thor lets his gaze wander around the room, not speaking again for a long time.

Eventually, he’d say; “Why didn’t I finish the job.”

image

his words had been harsh for the very reason of getting thor to understand. no, he wasn’t doing this for spite, but rather to inform the other of the truth of the matter. when other’s found out, they would blame him – just as they would blame ky for his involvement as well.

ky was guiltly, just as much as his father, and grandfather for this. even more so due to the bloody deal that was struck. still, he respected it – even if deep down ky knew it would come back to haunt him eventually.

“you should have aimed for the head.” a comment he thought was spoken before. even so, ky doubted that it would help matters much, but it was something that had to be said. at least for the time being. “maybe then we wouldn’t have been in this mess.” and ky wouldn’t have been stuck for what felt like centuries in his grandfather’s realm. or maybe he still would have.

not that it mattered much now. he couldn’t change the deals that were struck and the blood ( or rather ash ) that was on his hands. it was too much… even for him to deal with. “so,” a grin slowly spread across his lips as his form started to shift – at least slightly. his eyes turned bright red as he took a step closer. “we’re going to finish the job or everyone left alive will personally know you failed to stop thanos.”

@hellfirebound liked for a starter from wolverine

“Can I help ya?” Logan turned around to face the blond, cigar in hand as he took a puff and blew the smoke into the other’s face. The bar was rather empty, the man didn’t have to get as close as he did, which meant he probably wanted something from him. Otherwise, it was just Logan being a jackass, but that wasn’t new.

image

“perhaps.” a simple answer. one that in essence hopefully revealed nothing about why he was there. then again, ky was only in this specific bar due to the fact he was looking for someone – someone exactly like the one before him. “depends entirely on you.”

@hellfirebound

Centuries of life could little prepare a man for all that was out in the nine realms, much less that which was beyond. Not that he knew this was beyond the nine realms at all, but his gut screamed the man before him was more than simple foreign

Fandral’s gloved hand rested upon the scabbard of blade, ready to draw it out in a blink of an eye. Were he given more warning, perhaps the blade would already be out, but the past could not be rewritten, at least not with what he had available. Leave it to Loki not to be around when he was actually of use.

Perhaps he should think on how Loki would ease himself out of such a situation.

“Shall we cross paths with peace and a hello, stranger, or will we come to more heated terms?” His eyes remained wary, but at the very least there was a small smile when he spoke.

image

“depends.” a simple word, but one that he wasn’t going to change – not now at least. while he may not have technically been of the nine-realms, ky always considered earth his home. at least in most respects.

though, that had been changing in the last few years; more feral aspects had started to come to light. a reason he’d been staying away from everyone and more or less killing anyone cause him trouble. somedays, he was considered a hero-  other’s a villain.
though, he didn’t care about titles anymore.

“i’m not in the mood for a fight.” at least for the moment – he had enough violence for the week. he didn’t feel like causing anymore unless it was absolutely needed and couldn’t be avoided.  on all fronts. “unless you want one.”

Steve didn’t know the risks – and quite frankly – he didn’t care.

To lose Bucky once had almost killed him. It had broken his heart into such small pieces that he never considered the chance of recovering from what he had lost. But Destiny had a way to be a playful bitch – and seventy years after – Bucky was once more back into his life as the Winter Soldier. They fought and in the end, he found his way to his best friend’s arms once more. Life seemed to have given them a chance to live. A chance at peace after everything they had done and suffered. And for what? For a lunatic with powers that transcended Gods to take Bucky away from him a second time.

With a snap of his fingers – Bucky had become dust.

And this time around, the pain was too much. The grief that consumed him was driving him insane – the loneliness killing him in ways too damn horrendous to be spoken. Bucky had been taken away from him yet again – and this time around, Steve would not sit idly by and wait for Fate to pull another prank on him. Bucky should be alive. Not him. Bucky deserved his chance at a normal life, without chaos and conflict. He had seen enough and done enough. His time was over – and Steve was more than ready to deal with the consequence of his actions.

If that meant summoning a demon and sell his soul for Bucky to be brought back? Then so be it. “I don’t care about others.” This time – he cared about Bucky. Steve knew he couldn’t save everyone but he could save Bucky. A life for a life. “As long as you can guarantee me that you will bring him back without some sort of nefarious side effect – as long as you can bring him back the way he was right before he vanished – I will do whatever you want. Take my soul to hell and torture me for eternity if that’s the price… but please…. Bring him back.”

image

he could have just said that he’d do it with no strings attached. a favor in return for a life brought back. all ky had to do was act; make deal, bring bucky back, and be through with it. he’d actually had done it before; the price was always a favor if he knew they could give him an advantage. a soul was powerful, yes, but word of mouth was far more powerful – at least to him.

“i can assure you that he will be brought back exactly the way he was before.” a truth. the one thing good about ky was he didn’t like – never in deals -, but he could twist the truth to his liking. though, in this case, he wasn’t even going to do that.

in ky’s mind, he knew what steve was going through, and knew the man would do anything – make any deal – to bring back the one person he loved. ky might not have been through it, but ky could relate. he’d tried to find his mother -bring her back- just to talk, to get to know her. sure, it didn’t turn out as he wanted it, but he knew what steve was going through, and why… he was going to make the deal.

part of him knew what it would cost – knew – that it wouldn’t turn out well in the long run for steve. though, he was willing to make deal, and that was honestly the the defining factor. no other reasons, no willing to inch their way out of it; he was ready to do whatever was possible to bring back someone he cared about.

“no torture,” he wouldn’t put steve through that. no one deserved to be put through that. “all i ask is that when the time comes. you do exactly as i say; no questions asked.”

@hellfirebound liked for a starter from the hulk

“Why tiny man here? Hulk home. No one allowed!” The green giant stood up from his sitting position and banged a fist against his exposed chest before letting out a roar at the other. “Why bother Hulk?!”

image

“to simply talk.” a lie, but a truthful one at that. ky wanted to talk; to actually see if the rumors about the hulk were true. however, the prospect of fighting the hulk was amusing – even if it was one that was quickly shoved to the back of his mind. “that is why i’m bothering you.”

image

“or, i could just kill them all.” no chance needed on that little bit. change was something he attempted, but it was just so much easier to fall into old habits. more importantly, he felt far more comfortable slipping into bad habits than trying to change them. “either way,” he leaned his head back for a few moments. “It won’t change what they think of me.”

“ ever been near the christ’s crown area?” he doubted it, but he still had to ask – even if this wasn’t exactly the best situation to be asking question. “dear ol’ dad an’ i always have that weird effect on people; getting into fights when we’re not supposed to,” he said, moving to straighten his jacket. “shortly after that little bit he fought two guys; you may have been one of them.”

it was possible, but not probable – at least in his mind. then again, if spider-man was one of the one’s his father fought? he doubted he’d give him any bonus points… especially in a situation like this. “well,” he said, changing the subject back to the problem before the both of them. "i’ll distract them and you… you just go high.”
