“cover ups don’t change who you are, no… but working to make the change does. everyone things they need to be so stagnant. just changing your perspective on things can do wonders. not all weaknesses can be turned into strengths but plenty of them can.”

“being mad at the world about what isn’t fair doesn’t change anything, but sometimes it’s therapeutic. but you can’t really be mad at the world for choices that you freely made. not justly.”

“i’m not a good person.” then again, most days he wouldn’t even consider himself a person. then again, there were days were all he wanted to do was drink himself into a grave. either way, whatever he was… he doubted that it would matter much. “nor do i wish to change. give me a drink… or sixteen and i’ll be fine.” a shrug. “usually.”

‘like i said, i used to be the same way. my family wasn’t exactly the best company to have around. i considered getting emancipated as soon as i could… hell, maybe i should have.” but back then he still planned on following the plan they had for them, trying so desperately to appease them.

“the family i grew up with kept me hidden. all the best clothes, all the best everything, but still out of the spotlight.” maybe he should have been raised by his father. maybe he would have turned out differently, but all the same… he doubted it. “should have changed things sooner, but never had the ability to.”

“betrayal is a common theme among all species. especially glorified humans. witches… they become who they are because magic makes them powerful – and nothing good ever comes of power.” she for example had gotten a lot better at saving the hosts of demons by exorcising them with her mind, but at the cost of starting the apocalypse.

“sometimes it does.” though, most of the time nothing good came from anything. it didn’t matter who they were.. everything turned horrible given time. still, ky thought something good come from power… even if it was just saving himself. “most of the time though…. power is worthless.”

‘yeah, don’t think anyone can argue with that.’ everyone had their strange little quirks. those seemed to be more pronounced in hunters. but humanity and hunters both got a bad rap as far as she was concerned. the majority of both groups were good and their images were tainted by the bad. ‘sometimes there isn’t an explanation, even to the person in question. we don’t always behave rationally.’

‘maybe they should.’ or at least, they could make better decisions. still, it wasn’t like ky could say anything about it. not when he was more (or less) a walking disaster. the only reason he wasn’t stuck in hell was due to his father and even then… he was on thin-ice with all his family members. it didn’t matter who they were.

“Their DETERMINATION is absolutely ATROCIOUS, really. They’ll do anything to get what they want, which involves tossing all sorts of beings around as they deem fit.”

“SOMEONE SHOULD REALLY take care of them, don’t you think?” maybe a bit more than just ‘taking’ care of them, but all the same, they NEEDED TO BE ELIMINATED.

‘you’ve got that right.’ a lot of times it was hard to sort through the multitude of emotions one experience could bring out in her. these days, she tried to focus on the good things… and she was slowly getting better at it.

‘i ignore mine.’ well, most of the time he did, but eventually they would start to leak on through. eventually, they would start showing themselves, and everything broke around them. a reason to why he simply killed when the rage became too much.

“guess you gotta try to buy yourself more time then. if you’re not going to face it head on.” he didn’t blame him for not wanting to. hell was a commitment to a vicious cycle whereas heaven was a commitment to a supposed greatest hits cycle unless you had your soulmate with you.

facing his problems head on never ended up well. still, it didn’t mean that ky couldn’t try it eventually. he just needed the right time to do so… then everything would fall into place ( hopefully ). “i can pull a few tricks, but they won’t stop. not until i’m back there.”

“ family name? —— as in hell royalty? jesus. never get away from the bullshit where it matters what family you are randomly born into.” hearing more about hell irritated him. he always knew things weren’t black and white, but he hadn’t really thought too much about what happens to demons when they were exorcised. “keep your head down and i hope you wouldn’t have to worry about it.”

“more or less.” more so that ky never was good at understanding the ‘rules’. still, that didn’t mean he couldn’t follow them. he just chose not to — especially when he got in a few of his moods about his ‘birthright’ and what have you. “still, i usually come across someone wanting to send me back every now and again.”

“i would hope so… but my other daughter is convinced that something bigger was happening with her death… especially after her boyfriend was arrested several times.” maybe it was too hopeful to consider the possibility of the girl being jess. but the mole, it was a way to pick her daughter out of a crowd, always had been. “i know it’s crazy… but if there’s even the slightest chance she’s out there thinking she needs to protect us then i gotta know.”

“ have you ever thought… maybe she’s protected? ” no, ky wasn’t about to let jess know about this. it was a way to protect everyone involved and more importantly… himself. “ or maybe, you’re looking in the wrong place. ” though, the truth of the matter was that he knew exactly where jess was. he just wanted to protect her. that was all he wanted.
